‘ just you?  are you trying to say the rest of the team didn’t miss me? ’  he’d just gotten up from retying his shoe laces, his stretches before practice making him realize they were too loose to move around the way he would need to once they got started.  it almost felt weird to be back, but the familiar faces of his team mates all around him after weeks of working with students from all around japan was a welcoming sight.  oikawa especially, who came to greet him almost immediately, making his heart flutter despite playing it cool,  ‘ as captain, you really should teach them some manners. ’  smiling playfully, hazel hues cut to the brunet and then back out to the court where everyone else was already starting to practice,  ‘ congrats on that, by the way. ’

@ichibcn​ sent: oikawa had seen suga in the distance while out for his morning jog, decidedly picking up his speed by a lot just so he could make it to his side, falling into a rhythmic step with the other. ‘ you always go for runs around here or is it just my lucky day? ’

kept  busy  by  both  a  full  college  course  load  and  the  seemingly  endless  pursuit  of  extra  shifts  at  work,  it  had  been  weeks  since  he’d  last  pushed  himself  to  go  jogging.  it  was  a  shame  really,  considering  during  high  school  he’d  been  vigilant  in  fitting  it  in  every  morning  before  class,  or  practice,  or  even  simply  starting  his  day  on  the  weekends.  now  he  more  often  chose  to  sleep  in  rather  than  dragging  himself  out  of  bed  before  sunrise  to  run  before  classes.  today  though,  he’d  actually  woken  up  naturally  without  the  alarm  ever  having  to  go  off,  and  thought ...  why  not ?  he  would  even  have  time  to  come  home  and  shower  before  his  first  class,  if  he’s  quick  enough.

but  thinking  of  doing  it  and  actually  doing  it  were  two  very  different  things,  and  now  that  he  was  actually  attempting  to  jog  the  path  he’d  discovered  recently  he  was  absolutely suffering.  out  of  breath,  feeling  heavy,  and  just  a  little  too  sweaty  for  comfort.  the  first  year  fifteen  had  hit  him  hard,  even  if  he  wanted  to  deny  it.  honestly,  it  was  a  miracle  he’d  made  it  this  far  into  the  path.  he  considered  himself  proud  of  that,  if  nothing  else.  pausing  to  take  a  few  sips  of  water,  he  pushed  himself  to  continue  on.  just  a  few  more  minutes,  and  then  he’ll  turn  back.  god,  he  needed  to  get  back  into  the  habit  of  being  active;  after  all,  this  wouldn’t  be  so  hard  if  he  hadn’t  slacked  off  of  his  routine,  but  without  volleyball  he  had  no  reason  to  be  so  strict  with  himself.  nothing  in  his  current  schedule  would  suffer  if  he  chose  to  skip  his  old  morning  routine.
