I adore Emelia Whitherspoon (gave her a key role in my longest fanfic). Dame Margaret Rutherford (on whom she is based) has long been a favourite of mine*

*** the girl reading Lady Bracknell didn’t know the play and read The Line in a monotone. I, at 11 did know the play and did my best Dame Edith Evans impersonation at full volume “A HANDBAG?!?!” The teacher and I fell about laughing and I got beaten up after class. I was an odd child at 11. At 63, I have grown into my eccentricity.
