I've always felt like if someone has a platform they should use it right. Personally there are like three other people who might listen to me or pay enough attention to what i have to say for me to get my voice out there. The same can't be said about influencers. I'm talking about authors, booktubers, youtubers, tiktokers, etc.
If you don't know what's happening in Iran you just need to do a quik search and you'll see it all over twitter. I mean the hashtag مهسا_امینی (MahsaAmini) has over 310 million tweets. It has the record for the most hashtags in internet history.
I've seen many people talk about their heritage on the internet. Saying you're proud to be this and that but never showing support to your people SPECIALLY when it has no consequences for you is the epitome of all talk and no walk.
I follow persian authors and booktubers. These content creators have talked about being persian and liking when they see themselves in media but now that we need their voice they're silent (I'm putting the word need very lightly). What does that make them?
Honestly unless a justified statement comes out from them i'm going to simply assume they were riding the diversity wagon.
People are being killed here. Genocide is happening. They're shooting people. They're raping children. And yet these "proud persians" are sitting there, unaffected. I am so tired of the internet honestly
