A branch from a long forgotten tree planted into damp sand. Sea water trickles into cracks in the bark, searching. At the bottom of the branch it finds what it was looking for: opportunity. An opportunity to see what was, once more. An opportunity for one more chance. It flourishes once again.

Come lay with me in a bed of moss. The butterflies will trickle from our mouths as we speak. Rainwater will fill the pits in our stomachs, we can dive into them another time. Our heads will fall from the clouds and land in eachothers laps. We can watch the saplings grow for a while. We’ll go home once my antlers have grown back, that way i wont forget this time.

Take my hand again. I have found another beautiful secret, begging to be known. Step into the silver-backed mirror. Gaze upon this fresh eternity. A sea flows above our heads, sprinkling us with salt and sand. The forest infront of us goes on for eons. Can you hear the whispers of the moss? The laughter of the wind in the leaves? The singing of the outstretched vines? Lets spend an eternity or two here, i can already feel my antlers growing back.

Stare into the eyes of the towering deer. It may choose to share a few secrets. Pay close attention to the moss that hangs from its antlers. Study the oceans behind its eyes. It remembers a few more eternities than you. Learn from its fearlessness, and one day it will teach you to take its place.
