Β I didn't know if this account had been eaten by bots, but it seems to still be viable, so I may as well use it for my current endeavors, which these days are mainly pattern design, with a little illustration on the side. Plus there's more space here for me to scream into the void about process and the like.Β
This week's @spoonflower design challenge was such a struggle, which is weird because I really like moss; I like the colors and textures and I've made numerous paintings and patterns and embroideries of moss before. I was even excited because I discovered that I could use some of the leaf spray brushes I'd made previously at a very small size to make different moss textures. But when it came time to make a pattern it was like pulling teeth; I had to force myself to work on it at least for a little while every day. Finally I realized it wasn't working so I scrapped that design and on Monday(!) made a completely different pattern. I liked that one ok but it doesn't show up that well on screen unless you really zoom in. So YESTERDAY morning, just a few hours before the deadline, I started a new pattern using the moss textures I started with, minus their background, then made some spring flowers to brighten it up. It's kind of weird, but I don't hate it, so I really have no idea how it will do in the voting this week.
