i think one of taylorβs best strengths as a songwriter is her ability to portray the smaller moments of love and heartbreak, the smaller moments that hurt the most. all too well isnβtΒ βyou hurt me you broke me i hate you because i once loved youβ, itβsΒ βi loved you and now i have all these memories and pointless knowledge about you and i no longer have any use for it.β you are in love and lover are two of her most romantic songs because theyβre not about the grand gestures, theyβre about the day to day stuff that makes a relationship. when she saysΒ βi thought i saw you at the bus stop, i didnβt thoughβ in the 1, because youβre always subconsciously thinking about and looking for the people you once loved. or the memories and feelings come again out of nowhere, when youβre having coffee all alone and lord, it takes you away. cardigan is specific details and moments across the span of years, but august is just the same memory over and over, because betty knew james better. back to december opens withΒ βhowβs life, tell me howβs your familyβ because a relationship can end but you still wonder about the people in their life. the dress in clean is wine stained and she canβt wear it anymore, but itβs still in her closet: she still has it. because when you love someone and you lose someone, itβs not a one and done thing. youβll always have those little things. people plant seeds in the gardens of our hearts and even if we cut them down, the roots still remain, wrapped around us forevermore.Β

Tumblr: DO NOT TAKE DOWN THE GROUP CHATS
I think I speak for the community when I say that none of us want the group chats gone. They are a great way to connect with each other and find like-minded people without it being completely public, out in the open for everyone to see, not to mention most of us have many interests, so our accounts are not dedicated to only one thing. Group chats enable us to talk about specific interests without clogging the timelines of people that share our other interests with topics they donβt care about. Group chat members are already starting to make lists of usernames on other websites and apps such as Instagram to keep in touch with each other there, or even sharing their phone numbers to make them on WhatsApp, which I am sure you agree may put people (especially minors) at risk. We would like to see this feature stay. At the very least, we deserve a real explanation as to why this is being taken away. We will not be quiet until we get to keep this feature or until you provide an explanation. Thank you.

When I'm out and about I will almost invariably order an iced caramel macchiato. You cannot convince me there is a better option.

dark academia / new academic year
β’ trying to fix your sleep schedule yet choosing to stay up late listening to the storm outside
β’ doing extra reading in preparation for your first lecture on your way to school in the morning as if to tune your brain into the right state for studying
β’ returning to the university library, taking in the smell of the thousands of books in the vast room before diving into the aisles again, excited to learn something new
β’ planning a few outfits for busy mornings β as the weather is getting colder, you can finally wear your favourite turtleneck, jumper & wool coat again
β’Β trying to revise for the new academic year by going through your notes from years past β a towering pile of black leather-covered notebooks balanced on top of a rickety antique chair by your desk
β’ going on early morning walks in nature when itβs softly raining to clear your head of any stress, simply listening, smelling & feeling the world around you
β’ examining your schedule & neatly marking down all deadlines into your calendar in an old-fashioned cursive β starting to plan study sessions, museum dates & reading time around your other commitments
β’ sitting in a dimly lit, wood-paneled pub with some new & old friends, heatedly discussing some current or historical event, everyoneβs cheeks glowing red from their drinks or just the warmth of the place
β’ spending whole afternoons researching for essays β opened text books, printed out scientific articles & scribbled notes scattered on the table at your spot in the university library
β’ lying down on your bed late at night, listening to mahler & letting your mind rest after a long first week back at university
β’ walking the centuries-old cobblestone streets & visiting cosy little shops to buy whatever supplies you need for the new semester & retrieving your favourite pair of oxfords from the cobbler
β’ preparing a batch of vegetable soup to eat during the week β jazz playing softly in the background as you take your time chopping carrots
β’ going to lectures early to get your favourite seat in the hall & to exchange a few words with the professors β listening attentively while writing notes in blank ink, answering as eloquently & precisely as you possibly can whenever a question is being asked
β’ taking a coffee break outside of the university building on a gloomy, grey day, feeling the autumn wind on your neck but the warmth of the cup on your fingers
β’ lighting a softly scented candle as you study by the window, feeling oddly thrilled to be doing your first homework assignment of the year
gloomy friday morning set-up.
