Kind of obsessed with the way our stupid monkey brains are so easily convinced AI is smart or sentient just because weāve trained it to respond with little human like/dopamine inducing touches.
Like itās crazy that peopleās idea of a successful AI program is one that can successfully gaslight idiots into thinking theyāre talking to a person/ generating unique content.
When in actuality- you mess with it enough, you end up seeing the patterns of recycled personality and responses- and you remember this is actually just the big copy and paste machine they taught to have a specific kind of flair.
The only interesting use of āai personalitiesā Iāve seen are the videos Doug Doug makes, and even then he makes it pretty clear the funny part of what he does is building up and fucking with the limitations of an AIās ability to predict/interpret prompts. Because at the end of the day he knows AIās still run off the language of computers- and the ironic disparity in a computerās interpretation of humanity can be hilarious meme fodder- especially when paired with the nonsense of a massive twitch chat mob.
And then at the same time there are actual very cool and interesting functional uses for AI that donāt involve stealing peopleās work to profit off- AND NOBODY EVEN TAlKS aBOUT THaT.
