âhow i stay organised â
Hey dudes, today I wanna share how I stayed organised in my first year of uni. This system worked super well for me and going into my second year I wanna try new systems, but I thought I would share because it may help or inspire you.
đ Onenote
This is my main organisation system and place where all my uni work goes! Im gonna show picture of my last year set up and what ive altered this year to work best for me. This is the most important part of my organisation system!
*SEMESTER CALENDAR*
What I do is make a table with my classes and their colour code going along the top and each of the weeks within the semester going down the side (I also add the dates). When I finish a week I make the boxes another colour so I can see where im up to. This is where I keep all the tasks I need to do each week like textbook readings, assessment and modules I need to complete. This year im also adding when ive got my tutorials so I know when I need to be on campus. So I have a key for all my stuff: for my readings and other tasks I use the to-do box tag a, for my assessment I use the important/star tag and for my tutorials I use the cute little rose tag. A thing to note is that last year I had to participate in psych research studies so theres another box called studies in the table where I tracked that.
In the same notebook i also have my timetable and the yearly calendar for my uni. i use to also have a grades and thoughts tab but i never used it cause i track both on my phone notes.

2019 layout + scroll through (not yet completed but you get the gist):
*CLASS BOOKS*
For all my class notebooks I have a syllabus tab, a textbook tab and a tutorial tab. In my syllabus tab I have the dates of each week and what we are learning in the lecture & tutorial, what the readings are and if there is an assignment due. In my textbook tab I just keep all my reading notes. Then for my tutorials tab I just take class tute notes. You may be wondering where I keep my lecture notes, I type them out in word and save them to my class folder. Nothing really has changed here from last year.

đ Edo Agenda
This is a great website (plus app) that I feel like not a lot of people know about! This is by far the best calendar I have ever used, it is so practical, simple and functional.Â
Heres an example of mine from last year.
How I use it is each class has a colour that is the same as on onenote. Each week i look at my onenote trimester calendar/table and put down all the tasks i need to complete on certain days and when i should start assignments and studying. I add the task using the âtaskâ function that gives you a checkbox. When its completed I check it off. Anytime that I had an exam I would add it as an âeventâ. A great function is that you can drag tasks between days making it super easy to reorganise your week.Â
Heres a little walk through of the functions i use:

day 17/100 of productivity
i felt so much better these past few days! really happy that i can finally get back to work.Â
- started reading Life of Pi - finished sociology research design proposal - started literature review, annotated 2/4 articles - completed notes and for midterm on tuesday - watched film for law assignment
my thing is that i donât believe in the future i canât plan for the future because i donât think i have one which sounds deeper than it is REALLY itâs just that i canât plan study sessions because i feel like i canât understand it if i do like 30 minutes a day i have to understand it in one go so i put it off till the day before the test which sucks for midterms because two tests in one day what do i do please
Hey!! I understand what you feel!! Perhaps breaking things down into smaller and more manageable parts that you are able to get through in one go is easier! Rather than giving yourself with widely unattainable in-one-day goal, try to focus on one or two sections, For instance, rather than the topic being âWeimar Republicâ, try to divide it into smaller areas like itâs emergence, then political, social and economic factors, etc. That way youâll still be getting through and understanding topics but not feeling the need to do it all in one day because you can set out a plan to cover it over a few days! I do think trying to remind yourself that getting a basis of understanding and working on that over a couple of days is important and necessary for understanding the subject as a whole. Generally, it takes a couple of times for information to really solidify in your mind! Though you might think that memorising in one day is good, itâs probably better to learn and revise over several days because then your recall is genuine and going to prove more successful in the future :-) x

How to Maintain your Motivation
1. Set realistic and achievable goals. These should be something that appeal to you as itâs hard to go after another personâs goals.
2. Think of meaningful ways to reward your progress.
3. Expect to have set-backs and to encounter obstacles. When that happens, focus your mind and renew your determination. Refuse to give up.
4. Decide to be a positive thinker. Refuse to stop believing in yourself. When you feel discouraged, decide that youâll fight on.
5. Share your goals with others, and seek encouragement when youâre finding it hard to keep going on your own.
6. Practice saying no to other options and distractions that may seem appealing â but distract you from achieving your goal.
7. Post inspirational quotes in places you can see to encourage you to work to achieve your goal.
8. Practice self care so you donât burn out. You need to pace yourself if you are going to reach your goal.
âremember, your life is not over because of one grade or one late assignment or one bad semester. remember, a failing grade doesnât mean youâre a failure. remember, a test score doesnât represent your worth.â
â close your eyes. breathe.
