Studio 1342

                     Alaia's 5th birthday party was such a hit, all of the kids had such an amazing time! I loved decorating the space for the event, and getting creative with the Cinderella theme.  It is so important to have enough activities for the kids, we had a jumpy house, arts and crafts, and a 'Bibbity Bobbity Boutique' with face painting and costumes!  Our boutique had magic wands, custom necklaces, tutus, princess crowns, swords and leather crowns for the boys.   Since I did all of the party decorating myself, I wanted to share some of my ideas with you.  See below for some items that I used to decorate and plan the day.   Big thanks to Joyce Park for photographs of the special day, and special thank you to my mom, stepdad, and best friend Xochitl for helping with the setup, and my fabulous assistants Jill and Ginger for helping organize.  Thanks to Marlene from Blue Dolphin Designs for the yummy rice krispy magic wands, and the delicious chocolate covered salted caramel pretzels.  Custom cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes.  Our event was held at a space I love, Studio 1342, where I have had my kids' birthday parties at for the past two years.      JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Arleigh's bat mitzvah was based on one single idea: FUN! With help from her parents who happen to be experts in fun, this turned out to be one of the most memorable nights of 2014! Check out photos below the fold:

It's  always tough to write about a wedding, because it's a different day for everyone involved. Your mom might only remember sobbing through the ceremony and your cousins might only remember what the barender looked like, but for you it was a whole year of planning and perfecting condensed into a day that goes by so fast you wonder if it happened at all. Miriam and Max came to Studio 1342 looking for a place to creatively sprawl out and include personal details that would make sure everyone remembered their wedding day long after the last dance.  From the look of these photos (and I might be a little biased) it looks like they got exactly what they wanted!

When you live in Los Angeles, November is basically Spring, right?  Well, I know Wendy and Larry agree with me because their Fall wedding was a true testament to how easily we can live in weather denial here in sunny LA, which is just fine by me (insert sunglasses emoji here)!

Walls they are a-changin'...

I love all our weddings and clients, but Alison and Matt's summer wedding is one of my absolute favorites!  We just received this video from Isabel Cinematheque and if you just applied some mascara or don't want to happy-sob at your desk you might want to just bookmark it for later.  But if you, like me, are cool with crying and repeating "THEY'RE JUST SO HAPPY!" over and over at work, then click the hell out of that play button.

Who says wedding planning has to be difficult?  Sure, the guest list keeps climbing and the cake might taste like cardboard and oh my god the seating chart is a NIGHTMARE but still!  Love! Fun! Happy times!  Ok, fine, it's true; wedding planning can be downright overwhelming. But when you have the right person by your side picking out place settings and party favors (or letting you have your way while you pick out the place settings and party favors) it's always worth the trouble in the end. Luckily for Esther and Eddie, their teamwork and creativity paid off in a big way and their wedding was a dream come true!
