A VISION TONIGHT,

“It’s Carmen.” She says, voice still marred with a tinge of sleep as she shuffles into the kitchen. Somehow the term of endearment sounds wrong this early in the morning, especially coming from him. Had he not a certain flair and air about him, she might have closed her door to him -permanently…but what would she gain from that? “How early did you wake up to set this? I mean…”She looks at the frittata, truly immaculate, as she slowly takes the offered seat, “…it looks like you stole it from Martha Stewart’s kitchen or something.” She might keep him around yet…

          oh, she was so glad that she wasn’t being paid to be nice to assholes like him anymore. still, she offered her fake attempt at a smile, taking her cigarette out to take a long breath. anything that could have been done for her was too little too late while he was away doing who knows what. interested in improving the lives of fables, her ass.

           ‘ you could take a step back. your cologne is very strong. ‘ her voice was as gently teasing as she could manage, masking her real frustration in the way she was well used to.

why, he believes it to be a most vile display of bad manners when you offend a man's cologne, and shows that much affront in the frown overtaking his brow. nonetheless, as a gentleman, he always makes a point of respecting a lady's wishes, so he does take that step back. it doesn't hurt that it adds to the theatrics of his insulted character.  ❛  it's armani code.  ❜  he mutters in a weak defense, instinctively smoothing over his suit. 

❛  good morning, my darling.  ❜   his lips curl into an enamoured smile that they are so practised at drawing, eyes following suit as they look at her with a perfect amount of adoration. not overt, and not too little of it either. he was an artist of romance. is a little unsure about her name, sure, but romance has nothing to do with details.  ❛  you had some smoked salmon, so i thought i'd make a little frittata. i do hope you enjoy it.  ❜   indeed, the breakfast table was immaculately set upon her table. approaching it, he pulls out a chair for her.  ❛   bon appetit.  ❜  

❛  how come we never got together?  ❜   he really did consider this the elephant in the room whenever he shared one with beauty. it simply did not make sense. were her tastes really so... beastly?
