and at that same time, mastani was basically become more influential and also mastani’s son was pretty healthy too, so while typically things were good between them, this was a tension point.

so she was a little jealous and basically rao’s mom was like wow, perfect. let’s kill mastani and then like. when it failed they tried to blame kashi

ok when mastani killed herself, kashi did take mastani and rao’s son and take him in and raise him.

she had arthritis ( meaning she wouldn’t be able to dance the pinga dance but i dont give a fuck i love pinga. i’ll take that movie inaccuracy for a song and dance number )

now this one is still up in the air for me,, but two things i’ve read abt kashi say she was married in 1711. and one says she was married in 1720. now. rao was born 1700.. so, the first date says they were married and she was 8 and he was 11. while the other source would mean they married when he was 20 and she 17. 

her family were wealthy bankers! and he was a subedar. so that helped get rao and kashi together. 

after bajirao and mastani died she went on a lot of pilgrimages and like, had a temple built.

ok so in the movie, mastani is like basically arrested and put in captivity and she dies there the same exact time as bajirao ok. but in history he died and it was basically said she wasn’t allowed to attend his funeral ( even tho some say she killed herself by sati but thats not the point ) and then she proceeded to die a few days later. now take that scenario, and make it gay. 

make it be that kashi, who is also greiving the death of her husband, is well aware the fucked up feelings mastani is probably feeling. and she never really was hostile to her. so she goes to talk and comfort her. and at this point mastani is like, ready to kill herself. i want kashi to talk her out of it, like this isn’t the way to do things. and mastani is just fuckingn like, our hearts beat together and if one heart is gone, the other too, or just SOME poetic bullshit and adding how it’s was rao would have wanted. 

and kashibai is like u right. it is what rao would’ve think he wanted, but deep down that’s not probably what he’d feel. and he wouldn’t realize he felt that way. he’s strong and so r u. so stay alive bc ur strong and stay alive to carry on his legacy and to share your own story. don’t let them win. and in general bullshit like that.
