Fly on the wall - Sarissa
Send âfly on the wallâ for a drabble of my muse talking to someone else about your muse
She wasnât drunk, but her cheeks flushed all the same at Sarissaâs name. What did Neena Organa regret? So many things, but especially this, especially her. âSarissaâs my best friend, my oldest friend. Practically my sister, the way Leia and Winter are; we grew up togetherââ Piercing blue eyes, thatâs what she remembered. The way her hand felt in hers as little girls, with grass-stained hems and shared laughter. She used to come to her recitals, before Bail shipped her off-world, before the Jedi ripped her away. And Neena didnât understand then because she was young, thinking sheâd have a lifetime to figure things out and in a way, she did. But Neena would catch her giving her these looks, and her pulse would stutter, and she realized too little, too late the meaning behind them.
Sarissa Alde was a regret and Neena never thought sheâd get a chance to make things right.
âI hate the Jedi, just a little, because of her.â She admitted, looking away from their face. âBecause they took her away, and I never got to⌠things were hard without her, being without her was hard. It had always been the four of us together. I resented Bail, for a little while, thinking he shouldâve fought harder for her, turned them away.â It was an ugly feeling and she felt guilty afterwards for it. âBut she grew strong, and beautiful, and deadly with them. She became a hero and I was so proud of her.â Neena fiddled with a strand of her hair, letting out a sigh. Saying this out loud felt like something was being pried from her, all sticky and knotted together. âAnd we were almost, we couldâve beenâ I look at her, now, and I realize I can start again, make amends, take back lost years. Sheâs my hope.â
Neena could hear her laugh, see her bright smile, and fondness bloomed in her chest like a flower at springtime. They were both young again, alive again, andâ this could be something. Yes, it could be something good, where the almosts could grow and turn into something else if she tried. When Neena turned back to look at them, she caught Sarissaâs staring at her over their shoulder. A small smile spread across her face. âIâm tired of having regrets.â

CAINâ:
The Knight was bored out of his mind, so he decided to go for a swim in the lake. He knew it was in the middle of the daytime, but he really didnât care. The blonde was stripped down to his trousers in case of something where to happen. The man tossed his uniform and his weapons off to the side next to a tree before driving into the lake. Coming back to the surface the man sensed a presence in the distance, but he didnât care.
Floating on his back like an otter, Cain lazily swimming in the lake enjoying the sunlight shining down on his skin. Groaning softly from the cool water droplets across his skin goosebumps formed on his flesh as he shivered. The water was a lot colder than what he originally thought, but he didnât care. He was on his back for a few minutes just drifting closer to the land. Â Floating close to the edge, he turned to stand up once again as he turned to face the figure he sensed earlier. Smirking at the person, he nodded his head. âHello, itâs a beautiful day for a swim, donât you think?â
Sheâd almost forgotten about this place.
When she was a teenager, Neena would sneak out of the university to come here. When she was homesick or the terrifying thought of failing overwhelmed her, this was the place sheâd come to. Nestled on Coruscantâs rooftops, surrounded by genetically-altered trees and plants, Savvam Lake had reminded her of home. And it was still as beautiful as she remembered, crystal blue waters so still and pure, for a moment it could be mistaken for Alderaan. Until she moved closer and noticed a figure in the water, with fine pale hair that sheâd immediately thought Winter.
But no, instead it was a smirking, half-naked man standing in the lake. It was silly to think sheâd be the only one here, considering it was public property; though it used to be only the wealthy who relaxed here.âHello, it is a beautiful day.â Neena agreed, kneeling down, savouring the feeling of lush grass against her hands. Her gaze flickered upwards. âNature is such a rare thing in Coruscant, itâd be wrong not to enjoy it.â The last years of her adolescence were spent here, in the heart of a foreign ecumenopolis; shining yet somehow more alone than ever. Standing up, Neena gave him a small, polite smile. âAnd you seem to be enjoying yourself.â

DRYDEN:
News traveled fast, the Resistance had lost a good amount of their buildings it seemed but the First Order itself had also suffered. That meant business would no doubt double and that made Dryden Vos quite happy. Of course hearing that the Resistance was regrouping in the entertainment district only fueled that pleasure. The entertainment district was his domain, he had his hands in everything down there, so it would only serve him right to see this as opportunity to turn a profit. He had no doubts that they would be looking for lodging and the First Light did have some of the most opulent state rooms as well as other such amenities. So being the gracious man that he most certainly was he opened his doors in a fashion.Â
Looking over the balcony of the large party room he merely watched his guests. It amused him to see how those that wished to climb social ladders thought that by being seen at one of his luxurious parties it might give them greater chance. True many celebrities and wealthy politicians mingled about but he gave the final word on who was worth talking to. At the moment it seemed that all the talk seemed to be upon the subject of the recent attacks. It bored him.Â
Neena didnât recognize him at first.
You couldnât blame her, honestly. The last time she saw him, it was decades ago on a Kalevalan pleasure yacht in some distant star system, still clouded by her grief. She was watching the room below, the way she used to watch her professorâs slender fingers pluck at glowing Centressar strings. The Resistance had sent her to utilize the skills sheâd cultivated during the Rebellion, and musicians werenât at all an unusual sight in the Entertainment district. Only when her eyes passed over him again did she finally look at him. He looked like many of the criminals sheâd met in her life, with his fine, dark clothes and arrogant bearing. But what caught her attention was the distinct markings across his face, a map of lines too intricate to be burns... except, Neena realized, she had met him.
Those times were hazy in her mind, and she didnât have Winterâs impeccable memory, but something clicked into place. The name hadnât meant anything to her, initially, but now it did. Dryden Vos, Neena thought, fingers tightening around her glass of emerald wine. A man who should look decades older than he was now meant one thing, and the thought settled like the last moments of a plucked string. The memories were vague, like looking at a fogged up mirror. Sheâd jumped from space liner to space liner, travelling wherever and playing for whoever, but he had employed her the longest. Her eyes trailed from his face and towards the stage below. Wealthy, that was self-evident, but heâd beenâ charismatic, sociable, well-spoken. Even if he didnât look it right now, from his position up on the mezzanine. Right now, he looked like an Alderaanian wolf-cat, hungry and in search of prey.
Taking a sip from her glass, she decided right then and there. Neena walked towards the man with a wide, disarming smile. âYou must be Dryden Vos!â She held out her free hand. âHosting a party on such a lovely ship as this, few have the luxury or the pleasure. Youâre quite lucky.â

EDGAR: Do you want to make your family proud?
Shakespearean Character Ask Meme
âAlways.âÂ
Neena couldnât remember a time where she didnât live for Bailâs smile when she performed on stage for the first time, or Brehaâs eyes on her when recounting Alderaanâs heritage. Years ago, sheâd think sheâd given anything for those simple days inside the palace: to hear Leiaâs childish laughter again, or the way Winterâs hair caught the light - like Alderaanâs snow-capped mountains in the afternoon sun - or Sarissaâs hand in hers before the world ripped her away.
Now, the longing was still there but it had nestled itself in between her ribcage, small and soft beside her heart. Distance made the heart grow fonder, but Neena liked to think sheâd made peace with it all. âI like to think I make them proud everyday, no matter what I do, because weâre doing the right thing. We havenât given up, I havenât given up.â

OPHELIA: Is there anything you regret not doing?
Sheâd been too young, was too young, for regrets, for all the tragedy thatâd befallen her at this age. Coruscant was a place of beginnings and endings. All of it felt like a lifetime ago and yet here she was, trapped, but here nonetheless. What did Neena have to regret? Alderaan, she wanted to say. But what could she had done? That Leia hadnât tried to do, as their planet disappeared before her eyes? Alderaan lived on through its people, through the beauty that other people strove to protect, to create. And they had, once, before the First Order arose from the Empireâs ruins. âI regret not allowing myself to be able to make more mistakes.â She said softly, after a moment. âHolding myself up to impossible standards, forcing myself to do things that were out of my abilities. I worked hard but⌠I didnât realize that no matter how hard you work, you canât achieve perfection. Itâs impossible.âÂ
Neena ran a hand through her long brown hair, pushing it back. âIf I could, Iâd tell myself you shouldnât base your worth off of comparing it to others. Not all of us can be the Leia Organas and Luke Skywalkers of the galaxy.â She gave a little smile. âA friend told me that.â
