To me:

• in my honest opinion after the first race weekend of the season, I find the cars a bit dangerous and with all the things and tricks (like how Verstappen locked up in qualifying or how Lawson didn’t get away at the start), it’s waiting for it to go wrong (possibly badly).

•I also missed a bit of the sensation of the overtakes that we used to have with DRS and (with Russell and Leclerc for example) when you need to defend an attempted overtake, you lack the performance with the next try, leaving you defenceless to the one behind you.

Here are some points ahead of the start:

- it is Piastri’s home race (though I’ve read that he’s sadly crashed into the wall on the pre-race warm up)

- it is Cadillac’s first race

-it’s the first race with the new regulations, though I’m not entirely sure if I trust the card yet

-Mercedes has a frontline lock down

- Verstappen starts from p20 after a crash in qualifying (like I said, I don’t trust the cars yet)

- Nico probably won’t start after a problem with the car

- it’s Linbad’s first race
