The first thing i notice is the colour. It pours across the hills until the landscape seems to breathe in gold. Every flower turns with gentle devotion, each one receiving the same sun in its own way. Beyond them, the fields soften into gentle folds, and the trees rest like islands in an ocean of summer... I wonder whether light has always moved this way: from one life into another, from sky into flowers, from flowers into the ones who pause long enough to notice…
golden afternoon the hills carry summer light in a thousand suns
