Kris might be trying to (or at least think they're heading towards) the same fate as the Forgotten Man.

they might think that as things are right now (Toriel has Sans, Susie has Noelle) everyone in their life would be happier if they didn't know they ever existed; after all, they wouldn't know there was anyone to miss.

not to commit crimes against innocently divulged cat facts (but it is technically in the game...) but it'd kind of be like that, right?

they haven't fought the Ender Dragon yet. but they've been in the nether, they're trying to find netherite in the most inefficient way and dying to lava and goofing off a lot, but they've also fought things like the Wither and survived so they're kind of late game. and it would be messy, but they could pretty conceivably make it to end game like this.

then one of the server members invites her irl girlfriend. the other irl friend wasn't consulted about this and could have mixed feelings even if it's an objectively good idea (mutual friend, know she's smart and will probably kick ass at it, you've got your junk unorganized in 17 different chests and lost a few netherite bars like that and you need an intervention, etc)

but imagine you're the girlfriend:

it's not early-game anymore. Castle Town has tons of builds, lots of progress made, we've got people we're grieving Noelle never met, in-jokes she won't understand, the team has fought a Titan before and she has no way of really knowing what that means, and she's being asked to just jump in. and jump in just to do what? organize? be consulted? what's her role to play that will make her feel like she's important and valued?

We'll give her our good armor and weapons and show her around, but wouldn't you feel a little bit like a fish out of water being invited in so late into such an already-established dynamic? With seemingly only a few big goals left to work towards?
