personally i think any speculation that the Roaring Knight is anyone but Dess is just speculation for the sake of speculation, its about wanting to have a theory instead of actually putting the pieces together. its contrarian sophistry. like her acting like a cocky teen, the fact that she is explicitly the member of the Holiday family who is missing. it doesnt thematicly or diageticly make sense for Rudy or Noelle, and Carol has the church plothole. and the Roaring Knight has antlers. plus so much of the paratext of the game and the text of the last two chapters have been about Dess's disappearance, about saving her. it just... its Dess, okay?
