“My Lost Child”

I hear your footsteps on the stair.

The little girl who isn't there.

With every day that passes by,

I'm sure I hear my baby cry.

The way she left was very quick.

I didn't know that she was sick.

She couldn't hold on anymore.

Now I hear her footsteps on the floor.

So strange this seems she was too small.

I never saw her face at all.

So where there were two, I was left with one.

And God gave me my precious son.
