I am so thankful and happy that my first horse commission was for a 7” hoop! I have so many thoughts and emotions about this piece but I just can’t find the words to express myself. I’m just really proud of it 💜

I already spammed this in my insta story this week, but I had to share it on my page too. Here are *just some* of the threads I found discounted at Walmart! I found a box in the fabric section with a jumble of threads marked 25 cents each. When I went to check out they rang up for just two cents!! So, of course, I went back yesterday and bought the rest of the box as well. Only one of the Walmart’s around me had discounted thread. At first I thought it was because they were messed up and tangled, but now I think they just got rid of a shelf unit and all the colors that were in that row were put on clearance. Check the Walmarts in your area and see if you can find a good deal! I know some of you messaged me saying you found them too! I ended up with 161 of them for $3.22! 😱💜

No More Naked Hoops!!! I found this beautiful light honey color of stain and I’m so in love with it! Now all of my hoops will be stained and I won’t be using any unstained naked ones! Here’s the new color lineup for hoops - Dark Oak, Warm Brown, and Honey! You’ll be able to choose which color you want to accent your pet portrait embroidery when you make an order, or you can leave it up to me! 💜

Here are my monthly favorites! September is almost over and, gosh, this month went by way, way too fast. Some highlights: I opened my patreon page! There are a couple of you over there already and I'm so happy! Also, my websites stitchingsabbatical.com and blog.stitchingsabbatical.com were finished and re-launched! I'm not ready to start taking full-time commissions again, but I will be opening special slots for Christmas orders! Those will be available at some point within the first few weeks of October. So going clockwise, here are my monthly favorites! White chocolate M&Ms: I discovered these at Walgreens and I'm not gonna lie, I've eaten 6 packets this month. Cuticle nail brush pen: I took @simplynailogical ‘s advice and made myself a cuticle pen full of Jojoba oil! My nails have never felt stronger and my cuticles look so good! I got a magnetic needle holder and it's helping me from not losing my needles (note all of the reject needles at the bottom) I also have totally been loving these scissors this month and have used them for every embroidery! I cannot stop buying green thread. Look at all this green I bought over the month!! Why?? I don't have any green dogs in my queue! I've also been using the DMC color 543 in almost every portrait. It’s almost out and I don’t have anymore.. THREAD HEAVEN! Now that it's been discontinued I think I've been using it more than normal. I guess you don't know how good you've got it until it's gone! I also stocked up and bought 6 more packs so I'm pretty much set for life. My favorite portrait from this month was Bosco's! I've never stitched a dog like him before and it was so fun to learn how! I also started a new thread jar! This one is my biggest yet and I can't wait to see it when it's all filled up! That's pretty much it! Thanks for a great month 💜

I’ve been working on this old pup recently and I’m so excited for you to see him finished! I was even able to incorporate one of the DMC embroidery 1000 free patterns (this floral wreath was designed by @threadhoney with an added pine cone as per customer request) on this piece. If you haven’t checked out all of the incredible embroidery and cross stitch patterns they’re offering head over to the DMC website! There are so many pretty patterns, I wish I could stitch them all!!

One tiny tabby comin' right up! I loved stitching Mischief's eyes - they're stunning! I took photos while I was working and I wrote down every color that I used and when I used it. Maybe I can use them to make a tutorial? 🤗
