Go for it! I doubt I'm the first person to use the four seasons as a narrative theme, and *looks at the 18k+ ghoap fics on AO3* I'm definitely not the first to give them the dynamic of 'emotionally constipated lovebirds'. The 'Tactical Cuddling' tag needs more works!

Process for Quiet Night In β¨ I'm really rusty with animation so I only drew 6 frames for Soap's smooch (also I forgot his knee scar π€§). The effects were done in adobe after effects. This was so fun and satisfying to make, I'll def be doing more β£οΈ

It's actually a sneaky reference to this hidden scene in the "Dark Waters" mission in MWII, where Ghost and Graves get mad if you don't interact with the (very obvious) missile controls. Ghost's "what the FACK" cracks me up every time ππ I love how it coincidentally matches the Ace Attorney pose too
do u have any adbice for backgrounds? i love how u use setting in ur art but i struggle to incorporate them </333 ur art's beautiful btw man (any art tips generally would be great! )
Hmm, if you're a beginner then first learn about perspective, this tutorial and this one explain it quite well. Then you can learn composition, how to layout a scene (a nice little guide here). Practice using reference images or the environment around you, eventually you should get an intuitive feel for it. For general art tips, I gave some in this post.

My process is pretty straightforward, sketch -> plop down some rough colours to set the overall mood (I find this is best done on one layer) -> separate the main layers -> render and add details until it's done. I tend to render the characters after the background, but you can of course do the reverse.
My backgrounds usually serve two main purposes: storytelling and composition. The character is the focal point and the background is there to 1) define the location and atmosphere, and 2) frame the character in an interesting way via composition techniques like flow, lighting, contrast, etc.
If you feel stuck like you don't know what to put in a background, just think of a scene for the characters to be in. If you've drawn Ghost and Soap snogging against a wall, the background or setting can tell the rest of the story. They could be...
...in the middle of a mission - the wall is rough and broken, peppered with bullet holes. Around them is smoking rubble and a destroyed tank. Ash and embers swirl around them.
...in their kitchen, post-retirement - the wall is full of framed pictures of precious memories. Dappled sunlight filters through the window overlooking the garden. The countertop is a chaotic mess of their attempts at cooking. (let's face it they are disasters, Ghost only wants to dice ingredients into perfect cubes and Soap only wants to make appliances explode help I wanna draw this now)
...in Price's office - captain was late to his own briefing and now he stands horrified in the doorway - the medals on his wall knocked askew by the two muppets sucking face like horny teens - his desk is overflowing with paperwork due to said muppets. Also he has a stack of like 10 spare boonie hats on his printer.
Okay I have to stop myself here before I write a whole novel. I think my main advice is to try and craft a background using objects and atmosphere that tell a story. You won't get stuck if you picture it like a film set with location, props and lighting all serving a purpose!!
Also, pay attention to the scale/size of things - this is something I often slip up on, like in this piece the objects' sizes are all over the place lmao, the box of tea is tiny, the pitcher too large, corkboard too small etc. I get impatient to finish a piece and don't spot these mistakes until later. But it's okay, we are always learning π§‘
