It had been almost a year since her family got murdered and her village destroyed and Daniela had been aimlessly wandering through the country since. Today had been a very bad day for her. It had been raining all day, and it had been cold and dismal.
Daniela sat on a park bench, under a large tree, shielding her from some of the rain. She was absolutely exhausted, hungry and cold. Resting her elbows on her knees, she dropped her head into her hands. The redhead heard footsteps approaching but had no strength to get up again and hoped the person would simply not notice her in the dark.
He looked over at her. "Oh, I didn't see you there. Yeah, you'd be right about that. You can blame the BSAA for that..." He silently cursed himself for letting that slip. But in his bad mood he wasn't really thinking clearly.
That caught her interest. She remembered seeing those letters on some uniformed strangers, before the bomb went off. "I grew up very….secluded, so I apologize for my lack of knowledge on this topic but who are they?" The redhead asked. "Did they do something bad to you?" Daniela tried to make her questions sound innocent and born out of nothing but idle curiosity.
He nodded. "Honestly I was detained for defending myself. Although I may have gone too far, but it seemed like they were profiling me for being well, what they call a BOW.... The BSAA are supposed to handle bioterrorism that uses BOWs, created by umbrella... Anyway... a man attacked me, I broke the man's arm.... I was arrested and that's why I'm pissed, I feel it was a load of bullshit that I was arrested for self-defense.
The last thing Steve remembered when on the Antarctic base, was her. Claire Redfield. He remembered he had said he loved her. Then, nothing. He was certain he had died. He remembered the year at that time was 1998, now he had no idea what year it was. All he remembered, were the experiments.
The experiments had given him super-human abilities, such as strength, but the guards in the facility had always made sure he was under control. The men who worked for a man named Wesker. That was who he saw when he first woke up in that place. The blonde man in sunglasses. He had always been plotting an escape though. Wesker tried to make him believe that there was no escape. Just as he was in thought, the scientists came in, the ones who experimented on him. This was his moment. Just as one of the scientists was about to inject him with the sedative they always gave him. He jumped up, grabbing the syringe and jamming it into his neck.
The other scientists tried to call the guards. But were all killed by Steve with his bare hands, he then did the same with any guard who got in his way to freedom. Grabbing one of the guard's sub-machine guns and fighting his way through them. Until he got to the exit. He hadn't seen Wesker on his way out though. It didn't matter to him though, all that mattered was that he needed to get free, he tossed the empty machine gun aside and ran for the exit, using his super-human speed to do so.
He ran for who knows how long, until he got out on to a city street, he saw people, thankfully, ordinary people. Giving him strange looks, which may have been justified, as he remembered that all he had on during his escape was only dressed in boxer shorts and probably covered in blood, now that he thought of it, his arm was starting to hurt. Probably injured by gunfire during the escape. He ran some more until he was clear of people, stopping into an alleyway. He tried to rest there but he was cold. So sleep came hard, but eventually he did manage to fall asleep. He could only hope those people wouldn't find him again.

When things were calm enough, Inéz Diaco would get up at the asscrack of dawn. The habit developed when she was a teenager.
At first, it was born out of fear. She'd woken up at fourteen to find the world on fire. The undead had filled the streets, the shops, and the homes as if they were always a part of them—in a way, she supposed they were.
She watched helplessly as her sister was torn apart.
She desperately tried to keep her dad from bleeding out on the street right outside their house, pushed to her absolute limit by the time helicopters began showing up. They belonged to TerraSave.
She's been working for them for a little over a year now.
When Inéz got up these days, after she was satisfied with her assement of her surroundings, once she knew things were okay, she went to train and make certain she was capable of keeping them that way.
Halfway through the trek to her usual gym, Inéz just barely caught sight of the pale, bloody figure lying on the ground. Her feet began carrying her forward before her brain had even caught up. "Hey," she called firmly, brows drawn together in concern. "Are you alright?"
Was this guy even alive? Or did some sick bastard dump a body here?
"You look like you need to get to a hospital..." She stopped short of reaching out, fighting the impulse. This is bad. Bloody, gnashing teeth and cloudy, lifeless eyes flashed through her mind. "Can you hear me?"
@crashandswirl When Steve lost consciousness, he had drempt of days past, he drempt of his childhood, his home being invaded by the Umbrella agents, his mother being shot by them, he and his father being taken to that god-forsaken island. He drempt of the horror he had endured there, before and after Claire had arrived.
He remembered Claire, their first meeting had not been a good one, he had shot at her, mistaking her for a zombie, naturally she wasn't too happy for him. Lucky for him, she seemed to be the forgiving type, as she had been nicer to him after that, and he made an effor to do the same and not shoot at her again. The most beautiful thing about her was her smile. He had also admired her outfit, but didn't want her to catch him looking at her. He remembered her tear stained face before everything went black, that was when he started to wake up.
When he opened his eyes, he saw a woman looking at him, not Claire, a blonde haired woman with a a pixie cut and eyes that were not quite as blue as Claire's eyes, maybe a lighter shade. He backed up from her a bit, unsure if he should trust her. She had some muscles on her, he'd give her that, but if she was Umbrella, he would not hesitate to kill her in a second if he had too. "Stay back! Who are you?! Are you with Umbrella?!"
"Saved me? Hardly, he just wanted another experiment." Steve remembered the experiments done to him. He remembered his escape too. "I got out though.... I killed all the bastards there who did that stuff to me. Wesker wasn't there of course."
"I see..." Claire was upset to hear that, but at least Steve had managed to escape. Chris was off in Africa at the moment, chasing the trail of Umbrella and trying to put a stop to all this. But from what Steve described, it sounded like this wasn't just ending with Umbrella and Tricell.
"Here, let's sit down and chat. We have a meeting room on the third floor that we use to interview survivors," She gestured for him to follow her.

"Ah, I see. You're probably wondering how am I still here? Well, the answer is pretty simple.... Wesker. I should be dead." It was true, he should be dead, after all, Alexia's monster had given him a fatal wound. But Wesker did manage to bring him back somehow.
"Well, I won't lie. It's definitely one of the top questions I have for you. But really? Wesker saved you?" She couldn't help but wonder why. Wesker wasn't a good person - and thankfully he wasn't around anymore according to her brother - but maybe there had been a sliver of humanity under the cold exterior. "How'd he manage that? You aren't gonna mutate into a monster, are you?"
"Saved me? Hardly, he just wanted another experiment." Steve remembered the experiments done to him. He remembered his escape too. "I got out though.... I killed all the bastards there who did that stuff to me. Wesker wasn't there of course."
"I can see that," she laughed, glancing over him. She felt like pinching herself to see if she was dreaming. But she refrained. The last time she saw him was in Antarctica, she thought he was a goner for sure but he apparently made it out alive!
"Well, aside from a few more run-ins with biohazardous freaks of nature, I've been good. I'm part of TerraSave now. We work to help those affected by Bioterrorism attacks."

The sound of a familiar voice made her stop in her tracks. Turning toward the source, Claire's eyes widened at the sight of her old friend. It had been a while since she last saw him!
"Oh my god, Steve! How are you? Where have you been?"
Steve smiled at her reaction. He figured she'd be surprised. The last time she saw him... well, she thought it'd be the last time she'd see him, that's for sure.
"I've been... living, that's for sure... What about you?"

Steve had been walking home from the BSAA headquarters after being interrogated. He had been released, but the way the interrogators spoke to him, implying that he'd been in the wrong and not even thinking of the fact that he had been attacked and had defended himself. It enraged him. He had broken one of their security cameras in the room, he had been slightly reprimanded for it but honestly at the moment. He didn't care.
He walked over and sat down on the opposite end of the park bench where Daniela had been sitting. He didn't even seem to notice anyone was sitting there.
By now she was completely soaked and not really happy about the company of a man in her vulnerable state. He seemed to be in bad mood, maybe he was her opportunity to get out of this weather.
Daniela leaned back. "Hi. You look like you're having a bad day." The redhead said, making her presence known. "At least you're not sitting alone in the rain."
He looked over at her. "Oh, I didn't see you there. Yeah, you'd be right about that. You can blame the BSAA for that..." He silently cursed himself for letting that slip. But in his bad mood he wasn't really thinking clearly.

Steve sat in the BSAA interrogation room, the way the interrogator had spoken to him... it felt like he was being profiled by them for being a BOW. Insinuating that he intended to harm people when he hadn't. Thankfully he had been bailed out by a friend of his. Claire Redfield, who he had been rooming with. Claire's brother Chris had also vouched for him.
He was waiting there, he was fuming. He stood up. Looking at the camera in the wall. Monitoring him. He approached it. Looking into it. Before proceeding to rip it out of the wall with his bare hands, then throwing it to the ground. Stomping on it for good measure, before storming back to the chair and sitting down.
"I can't say it'll be me, you'd likely need to reach out to a specialist. I can help you look for a specialist closer to where you live, however." Tundra offered.
He looks up at her. Then at the soldier in the room, then back at her. "I see. Okay. I suppose that could work...."
The BSAA soldier looks down at Steve, then at the camera he destroyed. Seeming to glare at Steve.
BSAA Soldier: "Young man, that camera was expensive.
Steve looks up at the soldier, then speaks with a tone with both a bit of anger, and a bit of sarcasm. "Bill me for it."
Tundra turned to the soilder. "Let's worry about that later." She then looked back to Burnside. "If anything happens and you need a doctor, feel free to request to see me." Tundra then left to fill out her report.
The soldier nods. Then turns back and guards the room.
Steve looks at her, then nods. "Alright. I can do that...." He leans back in the seat and sighs.

"I see," Tundra wrote down on her notepad before looking back up. "Can you tell me about any of the lingering symptoms you have following your infection?" She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
Tundra wrote down everything. Pausing for a little bit in the process. The regenerative healing was something only reported in the Jane Doe who was cured of the G Virus, also in 98.
"Alright. I would like to, with your consent, draw some blood to run a few tests. The sooner I'm able to get the test done, then the hope is that sooner you'll be discharged." Tundra reassured him.
He looks up at her when she requests the blood sample. "Fine." He rolls up his sleeve and sets it on the table. "Just get it over with." He really didn't want to have to do this. But the sooner it gets him out of here, the better.
"It won't take long." Tundra reassured. She quickly drew his blood. Her cold hands gently holding his arm as she did so. "There, that should be enough." Tundra removed the needle amd placed a bandage over the wound. "Before I leave, is there any other medical conditions that you have that I should know about? Doesn't matter how minor you think it may be."
Her hands felt cold to the touch, he felt the pinch as she stuck the needle in his arm to draw some blood. Once it was over with. He shook his head to confirm he didn't have any other medical conditions, as he really didn't. "No, nothing to add." He sighed. "Guess I'll just... wait here."
"I'll be back as soon as I can with the results," Tundra reassured. "I'll take a little while, but I should have the results back by today."
Tundra would leave the room and walk over to the lab. However, while she was performing the blood test she was approached and reprimanded for going in there with the camera gone out.
So now there was a soldier who was accompanying her. Wonderful. Nonetheless, the results of the blood test were back. She returned to the interrogation room. "Mr Burnside? I'm back with your results." Tundra stepped inside.
Steve nodded. "Wish I had brought something to do." He sits there and waits for hher to get back with the test results. When the door finally opens again she sees that a soldier had accompanied her and cleared his throat. "What do they say?"
"Well, the good news is everything has come back normal." Tundra looked up at him. "The T-Veronica virus doesn't seem to of left any permanent damage to your body, but I'd recommend you get tested again at least once a year to make sure nothing changes." Tundra flipped through the files. "As for everything else, it's all come back as normal. Medically speaking, a give you a clean bill of health and will recommend your release."
Steve looked up at her. "I'm guessing you'll want to be the one doing the testing?" Steve nodded at that. He really didn't want to be here anyway. In the case of that guy attacking him, Steve was the wronged one here. "Okay... I'll wait here while you do that."
