The Good, The Bad, And . . . Well, The Me!

Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes. Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day. And you can make it one more. You’re doing just fine.

We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.

I wanted to tell you that wherever I am, whatever happens, I’ll always think of you, and the time we spent together, as my happiest time. I’d do it all over again, if I had the choice. No regrets.

I can be someone’s and still be my own.

It hurts a lot to heal, there is no doubt about that. In fact, it will hurt even more as soon as you wake up in the morning. And as time goes by, you strip away the parts that hurt and then you just wake up one morning feeling like everything is not as terrible as it was before, that you finally have a new start in your hands with a genuine smile on your face.

Then she turned and walked away from him. Each step she took, was one step further away from him. He could only stand there and watch as her figure gradually grew smaller and smaller. Until he lost her. “Are you not going to run after her and make her stay?” His friend asked. He shook his head. “No, that won’t make her stay. Once she made up her mind to go, no one can change her mind.” “But you have no clue if you’ll ever see her again.” “I’m aware of that,” he replied, “But who knows, today’s goodbye may lead to a new hello on a busy street in another country and when that happens,” He took a breath and smiled a little, “Maybe, even if it’s just the slightest maybe, I’ll have the ability to make her stay.”
