In the 12th May update The Sims 4 introduced a new CAS category dedicated to accessory tops, called Base Layer. This way you no longer have to give up on gloves if your sim wants to wear a CC accessory top. (Originally all my accessory tops and chains were located under the Gloves catalogue so your sim couln't wear them at the same time. Downloading the new updated versions is not a necessity, if you like them located under the gloves section or you haven't updated your game to this patch yet you can ignore this post! ^^ )
After making a poll checking preferences, I decided to make a new, standalone version of my already existing accessory tops and body chains located under this new category. This way you can have the old (gloves) version and new (base layer) version at the same time and I noticed you can even layer two accessories this way hehe but if you no longer need the old gloves category version, you have to manually delete it. The file name changed the following way - I added the BaseLayerUpdate suffix to the original filename. Example:
Trillyke_Superstar_Waist_Chain_Belts.package - old file, located under the Gloves section Trillyke_Superstar_Waist_Chain_Belts_BaseLayerUpdate.package - new file in this bundle, located under the new base layer catalogue

Accessories like sleeve accessories and arm warmers I didn't touch, I feel they still fit more under the gloves section. Accessory chains however I updated, bodychains will be layered under tops, while waist and belly chains will be layered over clothing, as originally intended. Not on the preview, but I also updated the two male frame accessory tops I made in the past.
The file is a ZIP file containing 38 package files, make sure you unzip it and move everything to your Mods folder! ✨

Kian Cross + Ruby Lane:
A Romance Story
Melino has a funny way of bringing people together, and this story is no different.
Ruby moved in next door to the hospital, which is a short distance away from Chez Maurice, the restaurant where Kian works as a sous chef. Every day, they seemed to run into each other as both were heading to work. Her walking out of her small one bedroom apartment; and him slowly meandering from the little home Solene made sure was just right for them.
Kian began to linger a little longer, talking with Ruby each time he saw her walking out of the complex; and each day, he grew to like her as a friend. Those morning conversations turned into late night hang outs and venting about relationship problems or workplace drama.
Until one night, the lines begin to blur. Kian looks into her piercing green eyes and reaches for her face. Lightly brushing her cheek, lost for words. He's never seen her in this light, but now that he does, there's no denying the spark is there.
He leans down to kiss her, his lips igniting like firecrackers on the Fourth of July as their lips crash; he takes her into his arms and carries her to her bedroom to finish what they have just begun.
The rest is history. ❤️
When I was posting and sharing CC of my own, I admit, I often kept my mouth shut and skirted the edges of conflict for my own preservation and peace. But the things I've seen just from a single scroll of my feed today are truly, truly awful.
AI generated CC previews, early access CC for Paralives (an indie game IN early access), and low/questionable quality CC for sale in the Sims marketplace.
What the fuck happened where folks think any of this is okay or normal?
If we don't speak up, hold people accountable, and examine why these things are harmful, it's only going to get worse. Keeping the peace is one thing, but staying silent in the wake of the pure bastardization and exploitation of art is another.

Man, either my rants about paid mods and how to combat them is working (/jokes) or the Paralives team is on the same wavelength.
Either way I love to see it! They added a section in the discord for modding tutorials and there is a whole bunch of good stuff already!!! Sharing knowledge is going to be the number one way to empower as many people to create for community as possible. Definitely go check it out if you haven’t already.
( Also love that the devs are very much saying “use the steam workshop” and pushing that because you cant charge for mods on there. its not an explicit statement but I understand why they are moving the way they are. ) it is so delightfully canadian. 🤣
Edit: ive been corrected! There has been a statement but still the politely shady passive aggressive “use this!” “Look at all these tutorials!” Etc is making me feel very patriotic ahaha 🇨🇦

Ruby "Rue" Mae Lane. musical therapist. Early bird. Vegetarian. The kind of person who wakes up before the sun and writes songs the world hasn't heard yet. She moved to Melino with nothing but her music and a one bedroom apartment she could barely afford.
