Polling the TOS episodes against each other, one season at a time!
How it works:
There is no randomization here, each episode is going to go up against the one directly after it, with the winner continuing on to face the next chronological episode.
However each episode will get at least two chances to win, because after the first round the loser will get the chance to go against episodes (once again starting at the beginning and working its way through).
This will go season by season, and at the end of the poll the best two episodes of each season will duke it out in a series-wide battle.
In the fight for second place, I will not pit two episodes against each other that already went up against each other. If that happens, the later chronological episode will simply be bumped back in the polls until it gets the opportunity to face an episode it hasn't. If an episode is unable to face an episode it hasn’t faced previously, it will it automatically gets added to the battle of the season.
If the same episode is the winner of both rounds (since we all know there are fan favorites that will win any poll they are in), it will automatically make it to the end of its season. All of these "bonus wins" will duke it out with the 1st and 2nd place winners to be one of the top 4, and all four (if there are that many) will be added to the series-wide battle
Is it fair? Probably not! Is it confusing? Certainly! Is it entertaining? Absolutely!
Propaganda:
Write metas, make gifs, write missing scene fanfics, share links to YouTube videos, podcasts, cast interviews, etc.
