The T-4A’s main purpose is to serve as the main hub and temporary living quarters for Rescue Mission Crews on duty. As such, it is designed to be spacious and provide as much comfort to crew members as possible. Its max comfortable capacity is 12, not counting non-crew temporary passengers.
The ship is split into two main sectors: the Common Sector and the Specialized Sector.
The Common Sector:
This sector of the T-4A ship is the main living and utility area, where the Crew is going to spend most of their time mid-flight. The room design in this sector is meant to mimic the Protectorate Outposts back on Earth, to further comfort crew members by familiarity.
The sleeping quarters, the bathroom, the leisure room, the dining hall, the kitchen annex, and the infirmary are all located in this sector, as per the Protectorate’s Space Living Standards Regulations.
The T-4A ship also makes use of two recent technological patents: the S.A.I.L. and Orbital Beaming.Â
The S.A.I.L. is an Artificial Intelligence programmed to automatically diagnose and control the ship’s main navigation and power systems. Its main control panel is located near the entrance to the navigation room. While it’s not advisable, it is possible to switch to manual control using this panel.
The Orbital Beaming technology is utilized in the ship’s main teleporter, allowing the crew to access a planet straight for orbit without the risks involved in entering the planet’s atmosphere and landing the ship. It naturally also allows the crew to beam back up to the ship at any point as long as their wireless connection to the ship’s S.A.I.L. remains undisturbed.
The T-4A’s piloting and navigation systems are unique among Mission-Class Spaceship, in that a proportionally small amount of crew is required to pilot the ship compared to its max capacity. Only two crew members are needed to safely pilot the ship.
The Specialized Sector:
This sector of the T-4A ship houses the utilities not commonly used by the ship’s crew, or those only specialized crew members should have access to.
This sector contains three major areas: the mass storage room, the pod docking hangar, and the engineer’s entrance to the ship’s engines and fuel reserves.
The mass storage room makes use of Digital Energy Storage technology to be able to store massive amounts of supplies in numerous crates and pods. In certain cases this room can also be used to hold cargo of different crew members or rescues.
The pod docking hangar uses a mix Atmosphere Generators, Field Emitters and Gravity Regulators to provide optimal conditions for docking Escape Pods straight from the vaccum of space. The hangar also serves as the main entrance to the ship in the case it has to land.
The engineer’s entrance is designed to only allow crew members with the engineer crew ID to enter, although a manual override is possible in emergency situations. This hallways lead to the ship’s main FTL fuel reserves and purifiers, as well as its main engine array.
