Actually screaming at the differences between a bosun and a lead deckhand.
Wtf am I!?
I do literally all the stuff that a boatswain does but technically don't have the qualifications? And also about is different depending in the ship you're on?! I work a tiny ass barely qualifies as a ship passenger ship with a max passenger capacity of 200 people.
At first glance, I am functionally a bosun even tho my paycheck says lead deckhand. But the further I dig the more confusing it gets.
Also. I have so much experience but no official certifications because this is what happens when you somehow manage to find every boat and sea related thing in the middle of a landlocked city but none of it will give you the paperwork you need to actually land a job because you were 16 and 2020 happened and you took an online course instead of spending a week away from home getting the one of actual proper certifications and by the time the pandemic was over you're aging out of the program and too old/feel to awkward to join all the 14 yr olds in getting the training.
