DMD Line Up 2026 Tier List (and thoughts)
tagged by @romanceismycallingcard
A high school nerd scholarship student decides to take on a rich kid slacker and loses, so he has to tutor him. The rich kid falls in love. This looks like a gentle version of 2023's Dangerous Romance. I am very invested.
ThomasKong (Your Sky) back in an adaptation of a pygmalion webnovel about a boy who discovers his boyfriend cheating so runs away to another city where he becomes involved with a man who introduces him to how to do... everything better. And we do mean everything. New trailer backed off of the My Fair BL aspect making me less excited (I love teach me to kiss trope) but this is my favourite pair at Domundi right now, so I'm still sat for this.
Adapted from a Chinese novel, and I've been waiting for Ryujin to get his show. "After class placements were decided, the school’s two infamous "problem youth" shared not only the same class but the same desk. They’re clearly good at studies but pretend to be slackers. Fakers from head to toe, they just keep walking farther down the path of their performance." I'm excited about this, it's the kind of Chinese IP Thailand can run with. And by run I mean marathon.
About a youtuber who breaks up with his boyfriend and vows to start a better channel. It looks soft and cute and in the Your Sky camp which is my favorite from Domundi.
Player friend meets the pining friend, plus a touch of idol group drama, and this looks right up my rainbow ally.
Fanboy becomes an actor to get close to his crush but ends up with that crush's enemy and turns antifan. It's messy actors and I don't like fan-obsession stuff, but in this show both aspects are getting twisted so I'm in. A side pair getting to be leads with James back on my screen as the baddie and I am not mad about any of it. (Tho... I did think the first trailer was better.)
Passenger Seat Number X (trailer)
An ace flight attendant meets and becomes romantically involved with the CEO of his airline. Who also happens to be his ex. I'm into this. It reminds me of C-drama vertical dumpsters, and I like that kinda burning trash. I hope this is very messy.
Actor is blacklisted for refusing the casting couch, reunites with his ex when he is at his lowest. Fresh pair with good chemistry and I am cautiously interested.
Gay Worst Witch soulmates meets familiars. Happy to have ThomasKong and also Jimmy back. Looks fun if silly.
Still Holding Up Like The Moon (trailer)
KengNamping (Khemjira) are back in a celebrity time travel thing, kind of like Reset. Not sure how I feel about this one.
NetJJ (Love Upon a Time) in a complex LTR piece covering the 10 year life of a romance ending with a possible breakup after 30 days. I don't love Thailand handling this kind of content (better left to Japan) but if any Domundi pair can do it, it's this one. Even so I don't think I can handle it. Not excited.
Like ForceBook, I prefer MaxNat when they do drama, not comedy, so I am not sure about this. Enthusiastic secretary has to track down and bring back the spoiled younger brother (or actor with a broken heart?) to his boss. Max has facial fur. Just... nope.
Khemjira Forever (trailer)
New installment with some paranormal stuff on a BL set to investigate. I don't think this dead horse needs to be beaten, but most second season BLs are horror shows one way or another so... shrug.
"When a merman decides to ascend to the human world to pursue his dream of becoming a famous artist, his search for a lost pearl leads him to a new partner who changes his life." Oh no! It's a musical. Absolutely not! Put the tails down, back away slowly. (I have said it before and I will say it again: Est is the only BL actor allowed to play a merman.)
The Scent of Sorrow (trailer)
TutorYim as lovers reunited in a period piece that also involves murder, horror, dark secrets, and portentous dreams. Erm, not my thing. One of those where the title reviews the show for me.
Sirs not appearing on this list:
Revenge of the pretty boys, huh? I'm game. But I don't think anyone else will want to pick this up (including distributors) and it's wild that this is coming from Domundi. Still, they wanna take on their own bread & butter, bring it sparky. But make no mistake this is not BL, it's taking on the BL industry. No predictive rating.
The rest of the line up also wasn't BL.
