Roommates With Benefits

The city was alive with the night air, and the sound of traffic and sirens was low but present from up near the top of Krystal’s apartment building, and her apartment in particular, up on the 21st floor. An iridescent haze from the street lights and the neon hung in a low pall just above the city’s skyline.
The penthouse was the first and lowest of five, and thus not quite as grand or spacious as those above, but it still had all the amenities that Krystal could hope for, such as a large kitchen and living room connected to each other, full bathrooms, large bedrooms, and plenty of space for her to collect furniture and keep the trophies of her various works on display. As just one of several homes for the vixen, this one was nevertheless the only one that really felt like just home, and a place to relax, and wasn’t attached to a starship or to her place of business. And it had a balcony with a private pool, which was one of Krystal’s favorite features. None of her other homes had a pool.
Inside Krystal’s penthouse suite, it was dark, all the lights turned off, and the only light that illuminated the living room was an electric blue glow from the vid-screen, upon which Krystal was quite focused, a controller in her hand and a look of concentration on her face as she battled with the computer-generated racers on screen for first place. She sat on the couch, her legs crossed, wearing nothing more than a pair of light and simple black underwear and a grey button-up shirt, stolen from her roommate, with only two of the buttons in front of her chest buttoned.
Video games were a delight to Krystal, though she didn’t often spare much time for them in her schedule. Single player games and online games were her favorite, because it was one of the few situations she’d ever encountered where her being psychic gave her no advantage, as she couldn’t read the machine or the thoughts of her opponents online. And even when she was playing with someone else in the room, the only games that allowed her that advantage were slower-paced games of strategy and skill. So, it was practice at an unfamiliar challenge for her, in which her most powerful and useful ability was of no help to her at all. And Krystal loved a challenge.
She heard the sound of the key turning in the lock behind her, and her mind quickly flashed out a tendril of thought towards the door, feeling the consciousness on the other side of it. She smiled, but did not turn away from the game. Her roommate, she recognized, and let her attention refocus on her game. The chances of it being someone other than her roommate were slim, she knew, but they were never quite zero, and it didn’t hurt to be sure.

Still breathing hard, Krystal settled herself slowly down with a contented purr, nestling her chin into his shoulder and panting into his neck. Her arms and legs relaxed and she simply lay there atop him, letting him hold her to him, his member still twitching lightly inside her. She severed the mental tendril that seemed to enhance Ash’s girth, but kept their two minds connected yet, still swimming contentedly through their combined emotions. “Shh,” she shushed him unnecessarily, as the love he felt for her radiated through him, though quietly she thought the words back at him. Taking care to send only certain thoughts through to him, she flashed through his head images and sensations, mostly of their own previous exploits, and tried to make her message clear: nothing should change. They weren’t beholden to each other, and each was still their own person, free to follow their hearts desires. But it became tiresome, so soon after she had felt such bliss, to focus her thoughts so, and she made that mental outpour brief in favor of simply focusing on the feel of his body pressed so tightly against hers.
She shivered as the cold wrapped around them, and the heat of their passion dimmed. The world beyond simply the two of them started coming back into focus now, the sounds of the city streets far below them, the twinkle of starlight far above them. “Carry me to bed?” Krystal asked lightly, feeling as though her legs would turn to jelly if she tried to stand. She longed for the warmth and comfort of the sheets and blankets on their bed, holding him close to her as they slept. And perhaps, she thought aloud with a small grin, she would wake him the next morning by planting herself above him and playing with herself until he woke up.
