I don’t usually advertise my writing like this, but here’s the preview for the pilot I just drafted! It’s a subversion of the western genre, if anyone’s curious lol.

“A Flour-y Proposal”

It watches, curious, as flour sack 2 hops out of the box, kicks it aside, reaches into its pocket with its right nub-hand, takes out a smaller box, tosses it in the air, catches it with its left, and opens it as it presents it to 1, revealing an engagement ring. 1 gasps, leans back in shock. “A young wild kitsune wanders the forest mountains while carrying a lantern. Many who get lost in the wilderness follow it upon finding it, believing that it’ll guide them home. In reality, this kitsune just … really likes carrying a lantern around. It finds it amusing how humans follow it around when it does.”

#starkitt draws #the options for the project were to either…. come up with a liminal space….#…. or write a mini-story about any mythical beast of your choosing and draw a background for it.#.#SO OBVIOUSLY I PICKED THE BEAST DWELLING OPTION.#yeah I came up with the lantern story immediately after the professor described that option to us

#starkitt draws #tldr the professor wanted us to get a bunch of timeless or interesting looking objects (mostly stuff we already had)#and then set up a still life at home #and we were supposed to use what we set up at home as reference for some panels #and there was another still life set in the classroom that we had to use as reference for others #…yknow- for a project that involves gathering a ton of timeless looking items #this project was surprisingly Tragedy™️ free!#anyway that’s the longest alt text I’ve ever written in my life

“Botanicals”

#starkitt draws #aaaahg this one also had some Tragedies™️ happen in the process of making it #so we weren’t allowed to reference fake plants for this project— they had to be real #the professor suggested buying a bouquet of flowers from the grocery store #but. I wasn’t gonna spend that much money on flowers that were gonna wilt and die eventually!!!#especially not if they’d do so before I could gift them to anyone!!!!!!!!#so I bought an orchid plant #wanted some plant to take care of #easy right? just water it and give it sun!!!#and take it to and from class to draw it!!!#it was my child. I named it Mark.#I was very emotionally attached to this plant.#.#and then one day while I was taking it home from class it was very windy and the wind snapped it in half.#i was very distraught. my discord friends can confirm- this was DEVASTATING.#tried to tape it back together and revive it but to no avail… the emergency plant surgery was a failure…#ended up having to redo all the thumbnails to make up for the loss of a huge chunk of the plant #managed to put something together…. but….#…my child :c #(for the record it is still alive and fine- flowerless but alive!!!!)

#starkitt animates #lmao the cats were not necessary to this assignment #all we needed to do was make a ball bounce off of a wall at least once and slow to a stop.#but basically everyone in the class wanted to add some extra ✨pizzazz✨ to this assignment #idk it was wild- some people did a fully rendered background with coloring and everything #someone had a crocodile hurl it at a wall #someone had the ball hit someone in the head and animated them stumbling back #like. This was a class full of overachievers.#I just added cats because …. cute :D #contemplated doing a dog chasing it but. *glances at my dog* I doubt a dog would let it just roll like that-#if I were to go back to this one I’d definitely add more in-betweens on the cat #but …. nah I’m done with this one-
