A mutual of mine made a really good observation on my previous post on MePad about how as they went up in generation the MePhones were slowly losing more and more of their “humanity” and it got me thinking about why that was happening. Their lack of mouths and emotions along with how they’re being designed to be very unaware most likely would make it infinitely harder for the MePhones to get away from Steve Cobs and/or notice all the things Cobs was doing behind the scenes unlike MePhone 4. Thus why I think these are deliberate tactics Cobs is using to make sure he has control and to ensure that no one escapes. Even little details like MePad having no arms or MePhone X having metal arms with clamps as hands instead of the normal MePhone arms point to this idea. I mean, Who in their right mind would make a robot meant to do tasks have claw instead of regular arms and hands that have more mobility and use?

Cobs is obviously aware that the reason MePhone 4 ran away was because of his ability to learn and make decisions/ experience emotions. However, instead of reflecting on himself and fixing what he was doing/done wrong Cobs just programs his robots be unable to revolt against his neglected and abused.

I think something interesting AE could do with X is instead of making him a straight up villain like Springy or antagonist like MePhone 5 they could show him as a victim of Cobs and the effects of stripping his creations of their autonomy and self. He would still be an antagonist at first but then all the rest of the story and what was out of his control would be revealed. It would be nice (in my opinion) to see a MePhone (that's not MePhone 4 or MePad) rebel and escape Cobs’s control.

Maybe that’s just my weakness towards happy endings bubbling up there but I don’t think I could stomach seeing MePhone X portrayed as a villain. It just… doesn’t feel right to me.
