Hi, just wanted to ask a quick question i wasn’t sure had an answer yet, but what pronouns does D’rithe use? Ive seen people use both he and they but i wanted to confirm for myself

Hello!! To get this out of the way, I think any pronouns work for D'Rithe, he/she/they. So no worries about any pronouns used! Here's where I take the time to yap: D'Rithe technically uses he/him in the canon… first book stuff. But, I actually do my best to never refer to D'Rithe as a man in his internal monologue.

I'm not a regular viewer of your blog but I am glad you're finding some joy in your roboguys again! I also hope your book journey is going well. Are you self publishing or do you have a publisher and literary agent?

Hello! Thank you so much. I've been enjoying posting about them, even if it's only for a short time before I fall back into focusing on SLF. As far as publishing goes, I'll be self-publishing!| I kinda went into this on TikTok before, but SLF is a bit hard to market, and I imagine it would be a bit hard to sell! It can't be a standalone, and right now I'm debating how many books will actually be needed to do the story justice. Self-publishing gives me the freedom to do what I want for the story without worrying about such things. But who knows! Self-publishing doesn't mean it will never be traditionally published. But for now, I feel confident doing the heavy lifting on my own.

I oftentimes hear that hybrid animals struggle with their senses due to the differences in their parent’s genetic makeup and variations in ecological niche. Does Lockett have any of those struggles? Perhaps finding human pallets unsavory? Inability to smell? Or maybe even a lack of libido?

Getting to my inbox now since I was busy before! Funny enough, I did have some allusions to Lockett's senses in the started manuscript for book 2. Honestly, I think their sight and hearing are the only ones that are average for a human or j'une. Meanwhile, they don't really feel pain or taste very well (they don't really like human food in general). Libido isn't something I've really thought about since they are only 19 when introduced, but we will see!!

Don’t slime me out for saying this but Rachel and D’Rithe kinda remind me of Judy and Nick from Zootopia

Yeah... you're not wrong (second art by monkiemayhem)

I think the main difference is that Rachel isn't much like Judy. She's much more timid, or at least not as much of a go-getter.

Meanwhile, D'Rithe is like a fusion of Nick Wilde and Deadlock—maybe a bit of MCU Yelena mixed in.
