In stardew, pelican town often feels like a collection of strangers who all happen to live in proximity, save for the few groups/families/couples that end up feeling kind of clique-y. And even then, we don’t get to see much of their dynamics besides what we’re told offhand once in a while. When you’re working to restore the community center and improve the town, everyone else is sitting on their asses and hardly seems to care that you’re carrying it on your back.

Mistria is so different. Everyone stops to chat with each other in the street and you actually get to be privvy to their conversations. There are countless connections to explore and interactions to deepen the individual characters. They will consistently comment on how good of a job you’re doing with the town so you feel like a real, valued member, and everyone else pitches in for jobs big and small.
