while i acknowledge that this season had its good moments (a bit of devilβs minion, louis and regina subplot, akasha and marius), i cannot ignore the awful and offensive writing, pacing, and overall structure of this season. characters are simply not acting like themselves, or are being sidelined, and difficult topics like incest, abuse, CSA, etc. are all being handled extremely poorly. so many things are left unaddressed and swept under the rug, or rolin just pretends that these things never happened. this has been going on ALL SEASON and iβm just left tired and disappointed. oh and these white writers having a black character call another black character a βslaveβ and a βnappy-headβ is just the cherry on top for me. itβs really fucking gross
(and the fact that loustat just donβt react at all after this scene. orrr the fact that claudia says sheβs always liked lestat. when that simply isnβt true. christ i can go on and on)
oh and armand has like very little screentime and only shows up for 5 minutes to do some cartoonishly evil shit. his motivations are so unclear this season. [sorry but i wouldnβt care if they cancelled this show]
