wonderfull, I love being laughed at for putting hours into the media I love and engage with, wonderfull.
I still love it though, I loved meeting the kids. Honestly I thought we would never get to see them like this, but here they are. I love aqua, if anyone hurts her Im killing everyone in this room and then myself.
Flowery (as much as I loathe him) made for an excellent antagonist, and a counterweight to flowey
just disapointed we didnt get to shred him(much)
also also, he did confirm that plants are inbetween darkners and lightners, which probably explains his stregth. (i still feel like the flowers dying when being left in a dark world too long is a cop out but hey, what do I know)
something interesting about Ralsei though, in that scene where he basicaly admits he knows Kris made the fountain, how much does He know about our control over Kris ? Obviously he knows we are separate, but what if he thinks it was Us who made the dark fountain? It makes far more sense for him to step back if he thinks the angel has a plan. Just a hunch though.

ps: its really funny how you have to change borderli e nothing about afwt because of how little impact this chapter had on everything....i do hope we get to see the soul flowers though, even small bits, i really didnlove them a lot.
ps ps: despite your hopes being low right now, take it from someone who has been through these long waits before in other fandoms, the road may look crooked, but the destination is always worth it. Despite my dissapointments I still believe chapters 6 and 7 will be peak. My hope does not break. My soul does not wilt. Not when i have this community.
Most of the "answers" that the chapter gave us were just "This thing wasn't as interesting as you thought it was". The garden wasn't really charred or anything, it was just Ralsei getting mad. Asgore isn't even related to the conspiracy despite his festival dialogue implying something "going well" that might get him back his job, he just got obsessed on his own. Wanna explore the UI elements? Oh, Flowery told me.
And I am not a fan. It feels like Toby's doing the Mike Trio thing but with core plot elements now and I'm deeply unamused.
The game making fun of people who play it is honestly baffling to me, considering that this is the game that stresses you the fuck out for not going through every nook and cranny. The main central plot of the game is that there is a prophecy that leads to one ending, and one of the steps is a tragedy so foul and terrible that every character wants to break it. Ralsei wants to believe there's another ending! OBVIOUSLY you'd have to go out of your way to find it in order to break fate!
But no. Go 100% a shower or something.
A MASSIVE departure from Gaster celebrating your tenacity in ch3 and encouraging you to continue onward. A massive departure from the game having hope for your tendency to persist despite all odds. Nah, we gotta make 500 gags at the player's expense now! I'm sure this won't have any ramifications for how the narrative treats us in the future when Kris' plan is revealed!
I think Flowery is the only character in UTDR who I actually hate. Pure AM levels of hatred. What an actual incoherent hypocrite.
His number one priority is making sure that Asgore is happy and giving him a world where the flowers can make him smile for just a little bit. He is willing to propose sacrificing Castle Town in order to make this dream a reality, stranding countless Darkners and destroying their homes.
For some reason, he decides to try to ragebait Ralsei and giving "sage wisdom" over and over again to force him to... do what? Break the rules? Step out of his assigned role? Which, of course, this point that he made instantly falls apart when you see the result of trying to break the rules: THE KNIGHT SAYS "NUH UH" AND DENIES YOU.
At the same time, he stifles Ralsei's identity. He says Ralsei looks "better this way" with the hat. He goomba stomps Ralsei into the sand. He ribs Ralsei for not telling anyone about Kris, which is fair, but I'll get to why this suddenly falls the fuck apart in a second.
FOR SOME REASON, FLOWERY DOESN'T TELL ANYONE ABOUT WHAT HE KNOWS ABOUT KRIS. I can understand that he has some reason to want Ralsei to do it, whether that be from him wanting some genuine good from Ralsei for some fucking reason. However, when the cards are down and the Fun Gang is rolling up to the battle to destroy your Dark Fountain, THE EASIEST CHOICE IS TO REVEAL WHAT KRIS DID. It would scatter the Fun Gang instantly. Flowery wouldn't even have to hurt them! His whole schtick is proving that the flowers' love for Asgore is better than the Fun Gang's love, so what better way to prove that than to reveal a betrayer! He jabs Ralsei for it, AND THEN ALSO FAILS TO SAY A THING!
It's not like he even particularly has a problem with jabbing Kris. He tells them, very directly, "Ever since that fated day, the "family" Asgore "loves" has caused him nothing but misery." He tells Kris during the battle that they've changed, and that if their plan involves Asgore, this is as far as they go. WHY doesn't Flowery SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE FOUNTAIN if he is showing that he firmly believes that Asgore's happiness is far more important than whatever Kris has going on? He's fine minimizing their love. He's fine alluding to what they did. But suddenly he won't say a damn thing?
Ralsei should've said something, obviously, but Flowery simply becomes worse of a character because the plot DOES NOT ALLOW plot sensitive information to be told to anyone despite a character having a clear motive to do so. At least Ralsei has an excuse of blindly following Kris around as a stated motive (which feels stupid but whatever). Flowery has SO MUCH MOTIVE to say something, but he DOESN'T.
NICE CHEATING THOUGH! NICE LESSON YOU TAUGHT RALSEI EVEN THOUGH IT GOT NULLIFIED IN .2 SECONDS!
Ralsei not knowing jack shit about what's going on with Kris btw to the point of making up excuses for them makes me think he really does have zero idea what's going on. He knows our rules. He knows our role in the prophecy. He knows jack fucking shit else, and makes excuses for Kris' actions instead of asking. He's not part of the conspiracy, or he'd know about the Knight. He'd know why Kris is opening fountains. Instead, he's just blindly following them around, which I feel like is the worst possible outcome for his character. Ralsei is learning how to have his own opinions and be himself, but the moment it comes down to Kris, Ralsei says that anything he "disagrees" over he must just "not understand yet". Ughghghghgh
And yeah, I'm happy AFWT is fine, but at what cost?

The soul flowers will not be appearing. I have already shown off flowers, and I have unfortunate news. Even if I managed to incorporate the soul flowers, they're dead. The Roaring has been going on for so long in that fic that there is no way they survived.
So I think it is best we Ignore That.
