i think tone has something to do with the feeling of misogyny. a marked tone of farce has crept in with rhaenyra’s scenes of governance that was not there with viserys, whose council scenes were largely played with great gravitas. there might be darkly ludicrous moments, but not farce. aegon gets there a bit more, but it is rhaenyra, not either of them, who gets an entire bottle episode entirely devoted to her attempts to reign that was labeled as like “succession” or “veep” in tone, a strained tone of humor - in a show whose tone previously had very little in common with either show. rhaenyra ruling is ridiculous to the show’s gaze in a way her male predecessors was not, and calls for various narrative tools that feel desperate to demonstrate it.

This shit is being called an invasion in national mainstream media around Europe. We're seeing these neonazi politicians respond to it in unison disapproval, using the same white supremacist rhetoric across the board. This is so clearly being weaponised in the most dishonest way by a united far-right front, especially when we -know- the US has been doing foreign interference for as long as it's existed more or less.

Just last week Morocco was thanking Trump and naming a highway in occupied Western Sahara after Trump and now this… meanwhile pro Makhzen people are saying that seeing any ties between all these things and saying the Makhzen is an accomplice to this is just a conspiracy

What I get from all these asoiaf adaptions is that these people really do not like magic in their fantasy stories lol

Like GoT pretty much did away with as much magical elements as possible and hotd seems to have taken the dragons=nukes approach a little bit too literally, or the throne cutting judgement and now the play with the dragon dreams. Sure it’s still magic but to its most obvious and boring execution.
