When I was invited to tour the factory (!!!), I was impressed with how the colorful, light-hearted spirit of the brand emanates from the space. I watched workers glue handles onto toys. I saw proprietary machines. I ate in the canteen, where employees are served delicious lunches. And, to my utter delight, I poured my own dildo. (Video here!)

Fun Factory has been eco-conscious since before that was a buzzword. They don’t have to ship parts to themselves, which cuts down on waste and emissions, and their packaging is 100% recyclable (rare in this industry).

In Germany, there are progressive laws surrounding worker pay, workplace safety, and accessibility, all of which protect employees. Because humans make the toys, they can detect and correct mistakes. The toys are designed to last, and they’re comprised of only body-safe materials. Fun Factory dared to use silicone from the get-go back in 1998, when toxic jelly toys were the norm.
