Distinguishing between any of these kinds or levels of abuse is a mistake.

First, they're part of an overall trend of private sector impunity, law enforcement overreach, and the virtual nullification of the 4th Amendment.

Second, all AI technology is the same. Not in application or purpose - algorithms can be used to do useful things like diagnose cancer - but in terms of technical and product development.

Art generation AI is facial recognition AI is predictive policing AI is vibe coding AI. It's totally possible to advocate for better cancer screening tools and less book burning, but fascist technocrat grifters trying to sell an "everything machine" actively oppose that kind of restriction.

There's also no way to build an "everything machine" without comprehensive colonization of the internet and exploitation of information, which includes everything from your private emails to your personal photos to your biometric data. (This creep is not limited to AI - look at genetic testing and law enforcement.)

The problem isn't one more or less trivial violation of your civil rights or your privacy or your access to information (because the funhouse mirror of AI is also a civil rights issue - can't defend your rights if you have no reliable news sources). It's using constant privacy violations to control and consume you.
