Brainstorming some business card ideas. So many possibilities. I am unsure what to do for a business card. Luckily I still have some time to figure that out.

Portfolio site planning from my physical sketchbook. Going over a lot of the possibilities of what could be included and how I could show off my artwork best. Goes with my other post.

Tools 7 litersl approaches for our artwork. We came up with things necessary for msking our artwork. Group discussion and written on the white board. Then we copied down into our notes (in my case, iPad handwritten note).

Notes from guest speakers in Professional Practices class. They brought us tips to improve our resume.

I received a lot of helpful feedback on my portfolio. My main takeaway is I just need to put more time. I need to consider the different facets of my work more and incorporate it into my portfolio. Tumblr has ways to do so, I just need to figure it out.

Website design ideas! I would like to iterate again in the future. I think tumblr is a good website to utilize for a portfolio. I follow a lot of artists who are professionals who use tumblr as their portfolios. I think that the theme I wound up using worked to a certain degree, but not as great as I would have liked it to work. i think that through sesrching more, I can find a better theme to use for my portfolio. I also must consider my side art blog.

This piece went through a lot of planning for me. At first I was considering a digital painting. I was considering calling back to my Bojack piece that I did for my Painting Other Worlds class. It was a digital painting, and I figured I could revisit, reiterate, and create something new. However I then decided that I wante to create a huge painting to wow my peers. I was planning on crsfting the whole frame. However, finally the piece evolved into a series, using a large piece of watercolor paper cut up into quarters. This way, I could get my idea of my home in the abstract expressionist style that I enjoy, and still create a sort of large piece. 4 whole paintings!

Writing out of my Artist Influence presentation. This iPad has been a life saver for work on the go, enabling me to work on important projects like this one on the go. The artist influence project was enlightening. I feel we got to learn a lot about each other as artists, and about the artists that influence each other!

For Painting Other Worlds. We had to write a manifesto about our art and then create a painting from that for that class's final. From this I created the piece with the lone, winged figure rising in the sky near jagged rocks and sun rays beaming through the clouds.

I received a lot of valuable feedback from my peers. One of my pieces was a bit muddy and confusing. Fair. I see why when I looked at it with the perspective of my peers. I am glad that the choice to make these portrait styled landscapes was taken ell by the group. I think the idea to craft frames that are like a window frame is a great idea. If I were to go on and make another iteration, that is something that I would definitely do. More texture was a note, and I agree. I should have pushed the texture of the acrylic paint. More layering and different brush strokes could definitely do that.

progress on my gap project. this will either be 2 or 3 pieces that go with each other. it is very abstract, i wanted the body to be represented so it is recognizable, but still bizarre and abstract.
