[ He climbs onto one of the chairs at the dining table, putting down the paper and drawing on it. ]

Venomshank sat down next to him, resting his arms and leaning over the table with a small smile watching Spring draw.
" Im good! What are you drawing? "
[ He shrugged lightly, not wanting to say. ]
“Can I ask you questions?”
" Of course, you can ask me whatever you like! "
[ He nods and thinks for a bit. What to ask… he has a lot of questions, honestly. ]
“How come everyone fights all the time?”
" Well.. Its inphernal nature im afraid. We are spawned with the instinct to fight and be violent.. And because its a ritual sport for many. "
He shrugged, resting his head in his hand.
“But you’re not? Why?”
" I suppose Im just soft... That urge can settle and disappear with age and time, besides Im not a regular inphernal so Im made a little differently to others! "
[ Spring stared at Venomshank silently for a bit, studying him carefully before going back to drawing. Three Inphernals, side by side… he squinted at the paper, turning the pencil over to erase their arms so they would hold hands instead. ]
“You’re nicer to me than my original parents…”
" I get that a lot... Most caretakers arent the best, but youre safe now! You can trust me. I promise. "
Venomshank gently pat his head, trying not to disturb him too much and mess up his drawing on accident.
“… you’re sure?”
[ He stiffens slightly at the head pats, letting go of the pencil to grab the earflaps of his hat and pull it down over his eyes. ]
" Of course. I know Im still a stranger to you, but I will do my best to keep you safe. Always. "
He nodded, hoping to help him warm upto him. Venom didnt want to scare the little guy..
“…okay.”
[ He blindly fumbled for the paper he’d been drawing on and folded it into a small square, pushing his hat back up a little so he could see. ]
“How do people even work?”
" What do you mean? Thats quite a big question sweetie! "
“What’s in their head that makes them do all these things?”
" Hahah.. Well, probably neurons and instincts! We have free will and such things but we all fall back into what we need as inphernals. Its just how we operate! Of course we can always change if we want to though, it just takes some learning! "

“Is it wrong to eat people?”

[ Spring hesitates, stuttering slightly. He’d seen it at home sometimes, and nobody had said anything about it. That was survival, that was normal. He didn’t know how this concrete jungle differed. ]
“… that’s not…?”
[ He’d done something wrong, hadn’t he? ]
" Animals are a normal circle of life! But to harm others you know and care for are wrong, of course if you dont want to eat animals thats fine though! If you want to be vegan or vegetarian thats fine. "
Venomshank shrugged, not minding helping explain these things. Children were curious things after all.

" We are, but were self aware and self sustaining. We have sense and autonomy and can form thoughts and ideas... This is pretty hard to explain. We are merely... Developed, lets put it that way! "
