Making your own mint chocolate chip ice cream is a fun and cool treat that has just the right amount of rich chocolate chunks and creamy mint flavor. It's simple to make and will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth!
Ingredients: 2 cups heavy cream. 1 cup whole milk. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract. 1 teaspoon peppermint extract. 1 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips. Green food coloring optional.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract until sugar is dissolved. If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring and mix until desired color is achieved. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. During the last few minutes of churning, add the chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips. Transfer the churned ice cream into a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
