Time has come
Time has come
Itâs the end of the world as we know itâŚ: Time has come
The Last Winchester: Time has come
Getting out of the Jeep, Mack grabs the rifle from the seat next to her. She closes the party, checking constantly behind to make sure they arenât being followed.Â
While Dean climbs the stairs to check if the supplies are still there, she keeps checking every windows for signs of movement; nothing. They enter the house, cautiously, Dean leading the way, they spread out as silently as they can and try to locate the supplies. She pushes the door leading into the family room and the smell of death assaults her nostrils, three corpses lay on the ground including a young girl. It takes her a second before she can move again, she steps over the deceased and as she walks into kitchen, she canât shake the feeling that something is observing her.
She checks the cupboards next to the door when Jo walks into the a second later the backdoor burst opens and black eyes are staring back at them.
The Last Winchester: Time has come
The stench of rotting flesh was almost overpowering in the room, and Jo took shallow breaths to avoid gagging on the sickly sweet smell. No matter how much sheâd gone through, no matter how many bodies sheâd burned and buried and disposed of in other creative ways, the smell never got any easier to deal with. She checked the front hall for any indication of where the supplies might be before following Mack into the kitchen, leaving the dead where they lay.
She could hear Dean moving around upstairs, his steps slow and even, and Mack opening and closing cabinet doors. But then she heard another sound that wasnât supposed to be there. She turned and leveled her shotgun at the door just as it opened and a burly, muscle-bound demon appeared, teeth bared and eyes black as pitch. It probably wasnât the demon from upstairs, which meant there was more than one of them, and they were in trouble.
âDean,â she shouted, firing a rock salt round at the demon as he approached them, going for Mack who was closer to him. A second demon followed him in the room and Jo realized with a sinking feeling that things had just gone from bad to worse. âDamn it, Dean!â
The salt round jerked the first demonâs body back but didnât stop him. He was intent on his prize, and without thinking about it Jo drew her knife and threw herself at him, knocking him aside and sending them both sprawling across the kitchen floor, giving Mack a chance to get away.
Dean climbed up the stairs slowly and carefully, trying to make as little sound as possible knowing a demon was probably up here lying in wait for him. As he got the top floor he looked down the long corridor, well thatâs just awesome he thought sighing.
He reached the first door, pausing for a second, listening for noise before opening it quickly and sticking his gun in first, before he peered into the room. Empty.
Walking in Dean looked around. This was set up like a childâs bedroom and he sighed heavily. It didnât matter how many times heâs seen dead bodies or how many houses theyâve raided. It was seeing the children that got him every time. They didnât deserve this fate, they hadnât even properly lived their lives yet. Leaving the room, he shut the door quietly and went to the next room across the hall. Repeating the same process he was surprised to see their supplies neatly on the ground under the window at the far end of the room.
Just as he was about to walk into the room, he heard a yell and then a shot from downstairs, âshitâ he said turning around quicklyâŚ
⌠And into the face of the demon whoâd been upstairs, a teenage boy who smirked at him and went to grab for the barrel of the gun. The two wrestled with it until one of them accidently pulled the trigger and the gun went off, echoing down the large empty corridor.
Mack is struggling with the second demon who seems to want to literally rip her heart out. She pushes her through the open back door and wrestles with her near a swing set. As her long nails tear her shirt and dig into her skin, Mack manages to kick the demon woman's legs from under her. She's on the ground for barely a second before Mack shoves her foot on her throat. She reaches into her coat pocket and pulls out a hypodermic syringe which she plants in the demon's carotid artery. The demon trashes, in obvious agony. "Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus
omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica.
Ergo draco maledicte..."Â
She recites the exorcism as fast as she can, hoping the mix of holy water and salt will keep the demon trashing long enough to exorcise her. As the black smoke starts escaping the woman's mouth, Mack gives a quick look toward the house and can see Jo's still stuck with her demon. She finishes the exorcism as fast as she can and doesn't even take a second to check if the "host" is alive or dead, she rushes back into the house, gun in one hand and knife in the other.

Dean loaded up the jeep and checked and re checked his gun and the small gun...
Time has come
Itâs the end of the world as we know itâŚ: Time has come
She takes the small gravel drive cautiously, she can see Dean and Jo in her mirror with their riffles at the ready and she's glad for the comforting feeling of the holster attached to her thigh.
She parks a few feet from the door, just in case something decides to jump out at them. That's when she sees it, on the top floor, last window on the right, two eyes staring back at her before disappearing in the darkness.
Her voice is completely stoic as it breaks the night's silence.
Top floor, last window on the right, something saw us."
OOC: Just a little FYI, I will not be around as much until the 30th, maybe just a few hours in the evening. Tomorrow and Thursday, I have a trainee at work and won't really be able to be on my phone. As for this weekend, my hubsand and I are going to Michigan to look for our future apartment and (hopefully) sign a lease!
Time has come
Dean loaded up the jeep and checked and re checked his gun and the small gun in his thigh holster as well as the knife in his heavy boots.
He had a bad feeling in his gut about this mission. He felt like he was walkingâŚ
Time has come
The mental inventory of weapons, tools and gear she would need had been ingrained into Joâs memory for so long now that she didnât really even need to think about what to bring on supply runs anymore, but she still went through her pack and checked each gun, inspected every blade and counted each and every round in the clips and magazines. She figured the moment she assumed that everything was where she left it, she would need something that got left behind. And having enough ammo or knowing that knife was there when you needed it could mean the difference between life and death. Sheâd learned that the hard way.
She was twice as cautious this time, knowing it would be the first trip out for Mack since sheâd arrived. It wasnât that Jo didnât trust the other woman â theyâd become friends in the time that they had been working together, and Jo knew that Mackâs skills were more than adequate for anything they could encounter out there. But another thing Jo had learned the hard way was that having skill with weapons didnât mean a person would necessarily be able to handle themselves under pressure. How a person reacted when surrounded by Croats or set on by demons couldnât be judged ahead of time, so when they took a new person out on a run Jo packed heavy and prepared for the worst, regardless of who they were.
When she was sure she had everything she needed, Jo slung her pack over her shoulder and left her cabin, hiking across the camp toward the vehicles. She was focused on the mission, blocking everything else out of her mind except what would be required of her in the coming hours. She never took a run for granted, never assumed it was going to be a simple in-and-out, and that mentality had kept her alive when more than a few others had fallen. No matter how conflicted she might be at the moment, there was no room for distractions outside that gate.
As she approached the jeep she heard Deanâs voice, and she realized Mack was already there, too. âTrying to be teacherâs pet?â Jo asked good-naturedly, giving Mack a quick grin as she threw her pack in the back of the jeep. Then she nodded at Dean. âReady when you are, chief.â
Dean gave Mack an odd look, making a mental note to ask Bobby about it later before turning to Jo, he smirked at her comment but didnât say anything, turning back to serious as he addressed the two of them.
âThe place is about an hour and a half north from hereâ. He said grimly, âLast time we went it was during the day and we were ambushed by demons and croats. It was very lucky none of us were injured so we need to be extra alert this timeâŚâ, he took a deep breath, âBecause there is every possibility this could be a trapâ.
He looked at the two of them, making sure they realise just how dangerous this is.. itâs not just a routine supply run.Â
Dean runs a hand through his hair, âLook Iâll be straight with you.. there was every possibility that those demons and croats were lying in wait for us. It was just lucky that Smith heard them in time. I would like to hope that theyâre not getting smart on us and trying to stop us getting supplies but..â Dean sighs again, âWith our luck itâs most likely they areâ.Â
After a moment he straightens up, âBut that doesnât mean we quit or we stop fightingâ, he says gruffly, Dean isnât sure whether heâs trying to convince them⌠or himself. âSo everyone needs to keep their eyes and ears sharpâ, he looks at his watch again and opens the drivers door to the jeep, âAlright, Mack you drive and Jo and I will be the eyes and earsâ.Â
Dean looks at them for a moment, registering their hesitation, âLetâs go!â he says more forcefully.
Mack snorts and rolls her eyes as Jo asks her if she wants to be the "teacher's pet", of all things she doesn't want to be, Dean's "pet" is pretty high on the list. Anyone's "pet" for that matter.
As Dean explains how the last raid went down, Mack silently asks any deity who might be listening to keep them safe. She was never religious or even spiritual, but since all of this started, she's been secretely hoping that there might be something out there, she doesn't much care what; God, angels, aliens. Right now, she'd take anything.
She climbs in the front seat of the jeep and adjust the seat. The last person to drive it must have been way taller than her because her feet barely reached the pedals. She fixes her rearview mirroir and give a quick look to The Tank, hoping that it's not the last time she sees it. She creaks her neck on both side and starts the engine.
"C'est parti.*"
*Here we go.
Time has come
Dean loaded up the jeep and checked and re checked his gun and the small gun in his thigh holster as well as the knife in his heavy boots.Â
He had a bad feeling in his gut about this mission. He felt like he was walking straight into a trap. He hoped he wasnât, heâd already lived through Jo nearly dying once and he still wasnât sure about this new girl.. Mack⌠but they were desperately low on supplies now and he knew another team was going out a couple of hours after them to another farm a little farther out. It seemed they had to keep going further and further out⌠but if they just went back for these supplies⌠the fruit and vegetable seeds⌠the medical supplies⌠it was the only hope Dean had at the moment that it might just be possible for the them to survive⌠that not all hope was lost. They could almost be self-sufficient.
After years of travelling around the US going from motel to motel the idea that they were going to put roots down.. literally.. felt a bit odd. He knew if they had to theyâd have to pack up and leave the camp⌠if the demons and croats breached campâŚ
Dean ran a hand through his hair and closed his eyes, he knew heâd have to come up with an exit strategy.. just in case.. but again that made him come back to the idea that if they had to leave.. Dean shook his head not wanting to think about it before abruptly looking up as he heard a noise, boots crunching on gravel. He knew it had to be Jo or Mack but after Megâs little visit his hand waivered over his thigh holster gun, because you could be too sure.Â
Mack made her way up the dirt path, she was half a hour early, but Dean had made it clear not to be late. Her excitement had made it rather difficult to stay in The Tank anyway. She hopes that tonight goes well and that they can get those supplies back. After helping Ellen do the inventory, she realized how very little they had left around, and despite her best effort not to, she has grown to enjoy this little place. Itâs strange really, sheâs been running away from people and relationships since she was a teenager and now, of all times, sheâs finding somewhere that kinda feels right⌠well, as right as it can get during the freaking Apocalypse. She spots Dean by the jeep. She wouldnât want to be in his boots. Having to make sure everyone comes back in one piece and that everyone whoâs staying is safe canât be a pleasant gig, even if she doesnât trust him, she does have some respect for the man. Even back home the Winchester boys were well known in the huntersâ circle, she heard about them for years before this whole mess started and always wondered what it would be like to work with them. Tonight, she would find out.
She walks up to him, stepping loudly in the gravel, making sure her presence known, not wanting to startle Dean and end up dead before the raid even started.
âHey.â
Dean relaxes a little when he sees Mack appear out of the darkness and into the light of the spotlights on the top of the jeep. He gives her a curt nod and looks at his watch. He looks up at her and gives her an impressed look.. half and hour early⌠well thatâs one way to give off a good impression.Â
âWeâll be leaving right on 12â, he says, not returning the hello and getting down to business, âHave you seen Jo?â he asks, he had told Jo earlier about the mission and sheâd agreed to go but Dean had sensed something was off with her. But Dean knew Jo and he knew that if she had a problem she would always voice it⌠which was what heâd always liked about Jo⌠That spirit and fierceness. He knew this apocalypse had caused a huge rip amongst the hunters. Many had blamed him and his brother for it⌠that it was Deanâs sole fault that he hadnât stopped Sam. And yes Dean did blame himself he wore that heavy burden everyday.. but he was grateful Bobby, Ellen, Jo and Cas had stuck with him. Because Dean didnât know what heâd do if they hadnât. They were the only family he had left.Â
He shifted a little in the quiet, if Mack was a hunter⌠there was every possibility she knew and about him and about Sam.. and that for Dean was dangerous. Only a select few knew that Deanâs brother was being worn by Lucifer and that was a heavily guarded secret.Â
âSo I havenât heard of you.. you know.. in the hunterâs circlesâ, he rolled his eyes at the phrase, âhow do you know Bobby?â he asked trying to not sound like he was fishing for information.Â
She leans against a tree, trying to get the spots out of her eyes from walking in the headlights. She sees him checking his watch and she hopes she doesn't seem a bit too eager by being there so early. She nods when he mentions that they'll be leaving at midnight.
"No, I haven't seen her today. Good to know she's coming though, is it just the three of us?"
She's glad Jo's coming, she feels confortable enough around her, and the idea of not being alone with Dean is reassuring. If anything was to happen to him and she was the only other person there... she stops that train of thoughts can lead no where good. She shoves her hands into the pockets of her too large jeans. For what feels like the millionth time since she arrived, someone is asking about her past, especially her worst memory, at this point she almost just blurts out the same, well-rehearsed answer she gave most people, but decides against it.
"My dad and I worked a case with Bobby almost 13 years ago, a shapeshifter near the Manitoba/Minnesota border. I still don't know how they met, but my dad always spoke highly of him. Anyway, after that case, he kept checking on me from time to time."
She manages to keep a straight face, but can't look straight at him while she talks about her dad. This might be the closest to actually telling anyone what happened that she's got to in years. That's her dirty secret, and she keeps it close to the vest.
