That swift ocean breeze didn’t stop us from hitting the City streets on New Years Day! Playing tour guide to out-of-town family, we took a walk along the Piers, and although It was chilly, it was a beautifully clear day. Boudin’s Restaurant is always the perfect place to take a break and warm up with some of their famous Clam Chowder! While waiting for a table, we decided to walk through Boudin’s Bread Tour! I love history, old pictures and memorabilia… and they gave out free bread, so this was right up my alley!

I’m a “if it’s easy…I’m into it” hair kind of girl! So normally my daily hair routine consists of wetting and racking a leave in conditioner through and calling it a day! Over the weekend I decided to try a simple two strand twist to protect my mane and to make my life a little easier when trying to get three kids out of the house by 8am during the week!! Guess what?! I LOVE it!!! Just a little carpet time in front of my fav show and voilà..my hair is done for the week!! I realize I'm kind of a lazy hair person, and I wish I would have tried more protective styles a long time ago...they are major time savers..duh!!! This girl is hooked, I will be sharing more of my protective hair trials and mistrials(I'm sure)

Brown Girl Bliss!

We have been quite the social butterflies lately. Last Saturday was Brown Girl Bliss, a wellness retreat with soul! Bliss retreat was an all day event, a first for blogger Cassidy of Natural Selection blog and Brown Girl Bliss owner Heather. Naturalista's from around the Bay converged around brunch time in a beautiful gallery space nestled in Oakland. We found our inner goddess with Heather of BodaBoda Yoga and Celebrity Stylist Felicia Leatherwood gave us the tools we need to maintain healthy natural hair. The food was delish! We enjoyed an array of fresh pasta salads and sipped infused cucumber water! Ladies got unshy with Sex Toy 101 by Nenna of feelmore510 and we sat front row at fierce fashion shows by boutiques Sway and Evarize. Stylist Amber Aaron showed us the cutest looks from Sway and delivered tips on how to transition our closet for fall. My favorite moment is when I found myself throwing my hair around and sashaying across the floor with Hipline Studio! My inner backup dancer/My Sasha Fierce came out and all of a sudden I was in da club, and getting my party on...this is my kind of workout! So much fun!! While Sommelier, Steven from Nopa Restaurant in S.F was a plethora of knowledge, and the only guy(might I add)! We sipped champagne and noshed on mini red velvet or pumpkin spice bundt cakes. Steven told me...the spoon I was putting in the opened wine bottle to preserve it, was doing nothing good if nothing else!!! Oh?!! Where'd I get that from?! I always enjoy these gatherings, you could look anywhere in the room on Saturday and see a smile on someone's face, the energy and community was invigorating! If you didn't make it to this event, you missed out...but no worries!! Cassidy and Heather are projecting another Bliss event in February!! Hope to see you there!!

I speak for all of us when I say, I think we are still in recovery mode after a most fabulous weekend in the City of Sin!!

The Blogalicious Conference was nothing short of amazing! Red Rock Casino played host to a weekend of inspiring knowledge, networking, gorgeous naturalista’s and doing the Dougie!! We haven’t had that much fun in awhile!! It was a pleasure meeting all of the people who were doing what they loved to do!! The energy around that place was awesome…inspiring!
