If companies wouldn't have income, workers would be payed. If workers wouldn't be payed, they would quit. If workers quit, there would be no one to make medicine, glasses and/or mobility aids. If there were no one to make medicine, glasses and/or mobility aids, the prices of these products would go up because they are sought after but there are not a lot on market. So we loop into the same thing, things would just get more expensive then they are already.
On the other hand. If we made things cheaper, industries would stay, companies would have income, they could still pay workers, workers wouldn't quit and access to life saving medical equipment would be much more easier.

lie (badly)
change the subject
crack jokes to avoid serious answers
lie (convincingly)
say half of what they mean
tell the truth but get so anxious/angry/defensive others now think they're lying
If your dialogue feels unnatural, it might be because everyone is saying exactly what they think, or articulating their thoughts too well. Try letting characters hide things instead.
Subtext is where tension lives.
