Dreamtale infection AU where the golden apples feed off of Dream and slowly take over his mind not letting him step out of their castle left behind for them by Nym so instead every year Dream expands the castle so he can walk further outside , Nightmare starts to notices and despises how his twin brother wont let him leave the castle ( he's scared NM will be disgusted and leave him forever ) .

Nightmare notices but makes sure first before bringing it up by counting his steps from the front entrance to the border.....it's true....it's expanding on it's own he thinks..... They are around 500 years and the infection has been active the last 100 so the switch is really apparent

Dreams infection effects his bones and physically body as well rotting it and turning it black and Matt like charcoal , he cannot ignore this forever or he will lose his brother.
