Tony just frowns. While he could say something rather remarkably snarky. He would rather not get his ass in trouble with the other staff. Though still he just couldn’t quite help himself. 

“Mm, just like being nice to me isn’t yours,” he crosses his arms over his chest and hearing the comment about the staff made him raise his brows.

“Huh, I thought that being his kid you would at least have similar tastes, guess I was wrong,” he shrugs, feeling all the more wary as Katri spoke about batteries. What? Why the hell would she need batteries? His mind was already beginnging to blare a few alarms and warning bells. Though maybe he was just overreacting.

“Batteries? Can’t you just use magic on ‘em? Or is that not how this whole shebang works?”

“You science people really aren’t that good at abstract concepts are you?” KAtri shook her head vigorously. “I don’t need the batteries, I am the battery darling.” It wasn’t is most complicated thing, she thought to herself. “I can’t use magic to charge myself, that’s extremely counter productive.”

(Obviously this isn’t actually Katri but this is just the way I imagine her performing)

When Katri performs, most people would expect her to a big and flashy number with a crazy song, but most of the time she prefers a more is less approach aesthetically. She believes that elaborate costumes distract from her dancing and when she dances she does so to make people to truly see her, not for them to just watch her.

Oliver James shakes his head, “Sign? I swear I don’t see any sgns around here. I’m dumb but I’m not blind,” he says looking to the door. 

For such a high class school you would think that they would afford just a bit of extra signage around the area. But apparently not. “Well lucky for you lacking a filter is something I am known for,”

“Are you sure about that?” he glances at her skeptically, but he supposed it was only a one time offer so he should at least accept it while he still had the chance. “Well since you offered..,”

“I guess I could let you lead the way then,” he shrugs, “So long as you don’t trick me or anything,”

“Whatever,” Katri made her exit of the bathroom and rolled her eyes dramatically. She sauntered down the hallway until got to her room at the end of the hall, unlocked the door and popped her showe basket in the closet.

“If I felt the need to trick you, you’d already be screwed,” she retorted sharply. She’d only been at the academy for a week, and hadn’t been doing very well at being approachable. “Am I going to ask for your name or are we going to do the whole awkward chitchat thing while I’ll walk with you and then never speak again?”

“Touche,” Tony says with a roll of his eyes. She had a point of course she would have a point. That irritated him by no means. Leave it to Loki’s spawn to have the better word. 

“Well, I can’t see any scratches on it can you?” Tony points out, “Please I know you’re good but you can’t be that good,”

At the mention of the word wife Tony couldn’t help but feel a bit flabbergasted. “Did you just say–wife? I’l have you know I am happily single thank you very much,’

“Besides I doubt Potts is interested in me like that,” he shakes his head, “Damn you really are a smart one aren’t you?”

Ah sarcasm his best line of defense. Katri seemed to be testing his patience. And for what it was worth it seemed to be working. “Power up?”

“Don’t tell me you want me to get you a magical staff I am not doing that again,” he grimaces at the thought. 

“Wow, I’ve already struck a nerve? That must be a new record,” Katri rolled her eyes dramatically, “Defensive is so not your color.” She put the drawer back into it’s place, and contemplated just leaving him to figure out what happened to his things by himself. 

“Ew, staff’s are so basic,” the blonde scoffed, “You know how batteries work, correct? If you want my help, I’ll need a mechanism to refresh my batteries.”

Katri’s first movie was Mamma Mia, she managed to watch it for the first time before she moved to the academy and was genuinely surprised when she found out that it was not a common problem to have multiple people possibly being the father of your baby.

She didn’t like the sequel as much in terms of it being a good movie, but Fernando is one of her go to songs to sing in the shower. She wants to use it to be her coreography project this semester, the contrast of the uptempo ABBA song and extremely slow movements is one of her favorite ideas. 

「 ❂  」Did the students at this school always have to be irritating or was it just Tony. The man bites his tongue resisting the urge to groan at Katri’s response. ❝Are you always such a smartass? Or does it just run in the family? I can’t really tell ❞

❝ Don’t play coy with me, I know it was you. Who else around here would be be capable of this besides you?  ❞ Tony takes a breath trying to stop himself from getting too worked up. 

But he couldn’t help it. He hated it when people touched his stuff without asking.  ❝Please FRIDAY is the most state of the art security there is. Nothing can get past her, even if it did I’d be the first to know,  ❞

Tony sighs, he honestly couldn’t believe what he was about to do. But to be fair he couldn’t quite help himself. Desperate times call for desperate measures.  ❝Listen what will it take for you to stop being a smart aleck and help me? Money? Private island. Kid, I’m desperate here, ❞

❝ Just tell me where my stuff is,  ❞

“I’m adopted, so who’s to say,” Katri rolled her eyes. Of course she was the only one witht skills for any sort of heist around her. She made her way around the desk to check for any signs of force. “Trust me when I say, if I stole something, you wouldn’t see any scratches on the wood where it was removed.”

“Perhaps the wife snatched it?” She had no clue what Stark could possibly be looking for, and why he thought she’s be interested in it. “I can’t help you find something if I don’t know what it is.”

“But if you wanna offer me an exchange -- I am in the market to power up a bit,” The blonde grinned.

  ༉‧₊˚✧  Just his luck, Oliver James hadn’t expected to meet someone so rude and condescending his first day but yet here he was. Did she really have to be so rude? It wasn’t his fault he had gotten lost and walked straight into the girls dorms and effectively their showers. Well technically it was, but he rather wouldn’t elaborate on that. Didn’t seem too smart. or at least he thought so. 

❝ Damn no need to be so rude about it, don’t act like you haven’t accidentally walked into the men’s showers yourself. Besides how was I supposed to know this was the girls building? ❞

Sighing he plays with the few stray strands of his hair while he spoke. Honestly he should know better than to let some girl rile him up. But at the moment he was just pissed she wasn’t being nice enough to at least point him in the right direction. Wasn’t that decent courtesy or maybe that was something the girl before him didn’t have.

❝It’s not like there are any signs around here. Could you at least show me how to get around instead of acting like a bitch? Or are you always this rude to people you’ve just met? ❞

Harsh words most definitely though he to be fair he was just tired, confused, and frankly not in the mood to deal with other people’s shit. Maybe it just wasn’t his day.

“I’ll give you credit on the building, but there is definitely a sign that says ladies on the bathroom door,” Katri pointed at the door, “Or at least I’m 70% sure there is.” She figured maybe she could be a little bit more sympathetic, he did just get slapped in the face in the wrong bathroom.

“Bitchiness is one of my main marketable skills, but considering I appreciate the lack of filter, I guess I could be helpfulish,” she rolled her eyes dramatically, “I can show you to the boys building, can I just drop my stuff back in my room?” She gestured to the towell and shampoo in her hands.

〔❂〕 Tony sighs he had spent the last few hours rummaging around for his stupid watch. It wasn’t just any watch it was a gift and a rather important one at that. He had been planning on converting into a possible mechanism for activating his suits. However it seemed he had somehow misplaced it. Which was impossible considering the fact he always kept it in a locked drawer at the side of his desk. Along with any other valuables he had which had also funnily enough gone missing. In his mind he knew that there would only be one student capable of pulling this off.

Katri.

She was of course Loki’s child, so it did seem to make quite a bit of sense for her  to do something like this. Tony didn’t even need any evidence to prove his case he just seemed to rather instinctually know that it was all likely Katri’s doing. It certainly wasn’t that hard to believe that she would’ve done this. Like father like daughter as they say.

As she finally arrived in his office, he sighs stopping his rummaging, ❝ I did actually, I know you’re up to something, your tricks won’t work on me wicked witch, ❞

Pulling the empty drawer out of it’s spot he rather abruptly tosses it onto his desk in a rather desperate attempt to prove his own point, ❝ All my valuables gone, care to explain yourself? I know it was you. Who else would it be? ❞

“Valuables?” Katri raised an eyebrow, “Gonna need a few more specifcs there, chief.” It was clear most everyone here knew bit more about Katri’s background than she was aware originally aware of, which was on it’s way to becoming a major inconvience for her.

She sauntered around the office, trying to assess what could possibly have gone missing. She really had no clue where the missing items where, but clearly, he didn’t care. “Maybe your security just isn’t as good as you think?” She looked at the desk drawer, “I mean if it was so easy just to take it out of the desk, I assume the contents could have been as well.”

Now Bennett knew for certain she was trying to make him angry. He couldn’t understand why unless she was looking for a way to both ruin his life and get herself killed. Swallowing his rage, he allowed himself to register her threat. He had been right to avoid her, he thought. Based on what he knew, she was proving to be exactly like her father. Dropping his mat in the middle of the room, he stormed over to the sound system, unplugging the aux cord from both Katri’s device and the actual stero, wrapping it firmly around both hands and pulling as hard as he possibly could. It only took a few seconds for it to snap, metal wires exposed where the rubber had been stretched. “Next time you try and piss somebody off with music, maybe make sure they aren’t willing to break the source of the sound.” He muttered, throwing both halves of the wire to the floor, picking up his mat once again. As far as he was concerned, he had no reason to stay. He could already hear his heart pounding in his ears. 

“Breaking things, because that is such a good use of energy,” Katri scoffed. Clearly Bennett did not fully appreciate the fact that he had the ability to muster all of that, it was infuriating. Katri thought her next move very carefully, a small spell, anything too big would simply be a waste. “Eyrnamaður.” Who needs a speaker when she can use magic to do the same thing. The spell would create a humm that would only continue to get louder. “Is that more your style?” the blonde smirked. Mortals were so sensitive, she didn’t do anything aggressive towards him until now. He was the one that started breaking things. It was an act of defense, self preservation.

Bennett stared at Katri in disbelief, unsure whether she was genuinely asking or attempting to infuriate him further. He decided to ignore her question, letting out a huff of breath. “I don’t need an alarm or a cold shower-” He snapped. “I need to keep my heart rate low which is exactly why I’m here doing yoga in silence and not blaring crappy ‘I hate my small town’ anthems.” Glancing down at his wristwatch to check on his heart rate, it was already too high for him to feel comfortable. He should storm out, leave before things became too difficult. But it didn’t feel fair. And the irrational part of his brain refused to grant her the satisfaction of the final word. “I don’t get it- you told me you wanted to share the space, but it’s like you’re determined to make me angry- do you have any idea how stupid that is?” 

“Someone seems a little grumpy today,” Katri rolled her eyes sarcastically at him. She was used to people getting pretty upset with her on a regular basis. “You know I do have curse that can cause deafness, it was one of my first ones actually. Or if that doesn’t maybe next time ask for the side with the aux cord, darling.” She knew she was probably playing with fire, but it was nothing new. She liked the flames.

Although it wasn’t his favourite, Bennett didn’t actually have anything against Pop Punk. It was just too loud, demanding his attention so early in the morning when he would much rather be listening to some classical piano. Yoga was supposed to be calming, it was supposed to help him control his temper, but he wasn’t sure he had any hope of doing so with Katri around, even without her music. He knew he should leave, remove himself from the situation. But in the same way anger was his weakness, it destroyed any hope of him thinking logically. “You just don’t look much like an Emo kid.” He bit out. “What can I say? And the sun has barely been up for an hour- you don’t genuinely want to listen to this shit.” 

“What’s an emo?” Katri asked, unsure if she should be insulted or not by the word. She wasn’t the slightest bit phased by his rising demeanor, and did a releve turn to face the other direction of the barre, “Isn’t that the point? It’s like splashing cool water on your face, or a wake up alarm. Perfect technique music.”

No matter where Katri went, or whenever she went in this case, trouble always seemed to find her. It came with the territory of having the literal embodiment of mischeif as an adoptive dad. Chaos has an almost fueling effect on her, it seems like the only way to experience things anymore. 

Being at a school setting was weird for her, between everyone hating her and her father, they just assume that she’s the worst. It’s not like she’d done anything wrong, self-preservation is anything’s most primal instincts.

Of course she could only expect the worst when she was called to one of the teachers offices. She almost didn’t go, but she’d been bored. “You wanted to see me?”

Bennett felt a sudden flare of anger. Despite his reasoning, he was trying to be polite and as far as he was concerned Katri had no right to call him out for that. Still standing with his yoga mat in his arms, he watched her petulantly lay out a jump rope to separate the room into two halves. If felt as though she knew he didn’t want to stay, and by making it clear she didn’t mind sharing the space with him, she also knew she could make him look like the one in the wrong. Feeling his anger grow as she made her way to the sound system in the corner of the room, he set his jaw, willing himself not to let her get to him. Flinching at the sudden sound of painfully generic music, his grip on his mat tightened. “You can’t be serious.” He deadpanned, working to keep his irritation out of his tone. 

Button pushing, Katri’s favorite sport. “Why wouldn’t I be? The juxtoposition of pop punk with ballet makes for great storytelling. Not that you even care.”  She went to the barre and started working on her tondues. “What are you not a fan?”

Bennett wasn’t entirely sure the offer to split the space was genuine. He was already pretty far from the equipment he could only assume she wanted to use, and there was more than enough room for them to not step on each other’s toes. But he didn’t want to share the space with her, even if she was offering in an attempt to be polite. Part of him felt guilty, he knew what it was like to be judged based on who his father was, what he could do. Wasn’t that essentially what he was doing now?

But his nerves felt justified when he remembered everything the Loki in his world was responsible for. He was an anxious person by nature, and if he was serious about not triggering his genes then he needed to ease that anxiety where he could. Forcing himself to look up at her question, he felt his face flush. “No,” he shrugged awkwardly. “I mean, I’m not- I was just leaving…” An outright lie, one she could probably sense if her magic was anything like Celestia’s, but he didn’t know what else to say. He could finish the rest of his routine in his bedroom, and hopefully excuse himself without offending the girl. He genuinely didn’t want to hurt her feelings. “I’m not avoiding anything- I’m sorry if it looks like I am…”

“Bad liar, but that’s cool I guess,” Katri rolled her eyes at him. She was used to people not liking her very much, but this was different. She took one of the ropes hanging on the wall and used it to split the room the middle, “See, no shared space right? That being said, I’m hijacking the speaker.”

The blonde took her phone and plugged in the aux chord, of course, some obnoxiously edgy music began to play. She waited for him to try and make her turn it off, or some semblance of a reaction.
