"I can't let them disrespect you like that"
part 2
Orlais, three days later
Sun was almost set down when they arrived. Commander helped his wife get off the horse. They barely picked up the bags when he heard the rude comments about his love, saying "uh, this is disgusting ", "Inquisition is really at the lowest right now". Obviously, they were people who had no idea of any kind of sacrifice and all they did was talking bullshit about someone because her wardrobe isn't expensive enough by their standards. He looked at them contemptuously, hoping that she had not heard their worthless comments, but from her fake expression he knew perfectly well that she was only pretending to be good-humoured .
- Ah, Inquisitor!
- Great, another jerk. - Cullen thought, rolling his eyes.
- It took you a while. Council is not too .. satisfied. We would appreciate more respect.
- Respect?! - Commander knew that if this stupid man will say one more sentence, he'll punch him.
Inquisitor saw the seething anger from Cullen, so she put hand on his fist to calm him down a little. While she talked to the man, she was stroking Commander's hand. He wondered how she continued to play their game so well even after all that happened.
- I appreciate but I prefer to avoid more problems when so little has been left. - she turned around to him when the man left.
- They're only looking at the tip of their nose and dare to talk about respect?!
- I know. - she put hand on his cheek.
He sighed. - Forgive me.
- No, no. There is nothing I disagree with you right now. - she kissed his forehead. - We should go with Josie to take rooms and probably say hello to the Council. Although I am convinced that they'll sling mud at me.
- Should I go with you?
- Just for room, the rest I'll take care of with Josephine.
- I'll take our things for this time then.
- Thank you.
She didn't say it would be quick but he hadn't expected three hours. Cullen managed to move everything to the room, even unpack some of them, or play with the dog and she still wasn't back. To be honest he was a little worried, he had left her alone to be devoured by the hyenas. So he fed the dog and went to check how things are going
Before meeting place, he saw Blackwall waiting as well, walked over, put hand on his shoulder and greet him.
- How are you feeling? - Cullen asked.
- I'm good, thanks. You?
- I'm just nervous that they still keep them there.
- I can't imagine how tired they must be, this whole journey and now this. I can tell, they do it on purpose.
- Why didn't you enter?
- They won't let anyone in now, unless theirs, maybe if you had been from the very beginning. - answered Blackwall.
- Do you waiting here long?
- A while now, I think. Besides, in the tavern, Sera and Bull are doing competition anyway. - chuckled Thom.
Moment later they heard them talking nearby, so they opened the door, both ladies were surprised for a second. Blackwall extended his hand to Josephine, and the Inquisitor greeted Cullen.
- I thought you'd be sleeping. - she hugged his husband.
- Not knowing that you're with woolfes. How did it went?
- I was right, I got screwed up, I don't even know how many times. Josie and Leliana tried to calm the situation. Oh and they invited us to breakfast.
- I suppose that, early in the morning.
- Unfortunately. Someone tired is better to control, right? - she whispered.
- I'm sorry to interrupt, I would like to thank you for the company during the meeting and wish you a good night's sleep. - said Josephine.
- I should be the one thanking you. I'd go crazy there without you. - answered Inquisitor. - I wish you both good night too.
They both smiled and walked away.
- Can we go to bed too?
- Yes, I see that you're tired. - Cullen kissed her forehead.
Morning, Orlais
They woke up, got ready and went for the breakfast.
- Everyone have a sit and enjoy your meals. - man smiled.
It started better then Cullen thought at first, conversation went fine. Of course, it couldn't do without small teasing, but his beloved sitting next to him rather did not care about them. Everything was going pretty smooth.. until person by her left felt a little.. too comfortable. It started with just leg touching her leg, so she ignored it, but someone wasn't ending there. Over time, she pulled away little by little, as much as she could, but even that didn't seem to work. Finally, Cullen noticed his partner's feelin' disagreeable.
- Is everything alright? - he whispered. She didn't directly gave him an answer but he recognized her crease of his sleeve as a "no". Cullen looked at the man sitting next to his beloved wife. Commander gently squeezed her hand. - Is he touching you?
She nodded to his whisper. Cullen's blood started to boil in his veins, she must've felt that so she tapped his hand to bring back his attention to her, he looked up and saw her slightly shaking head dissuaded him from thoughts that arise in his head.
One of the Orlesian's mobility stood up. - You have to excuse me for a minute.
Another one did the same. - We can make a break.
Everyone left the room as if they were sitting there for a year, not that Cullen was against it. Of course he hated them all deep inside but he couldn't leave his lovely wife to the wolf's.
- Cullen...? - Inquisitor brought him back from thoughts again.
- Y-Yes? Oh... Are you okay, my love? - he caressed her cheek.
- I'm alright, It's just... - she sighed. - I wish we could go back home, to be honest.
- I know, love, me too. - he hugged her tightly.
- I'm so tired, Cullen...
Some of the nobelties got back to the room, including the one who was sitting next to the Inquisitor. When she was about to sit down, Cullen grapped her arm and pulled his chair out for her. She hesitated at first but after a second she sat down, Commander then took her previous place, feeling aversion from the man next to him. Didn't also missed his snort, Cullen ignored him, only were a little at ease about his sweetheart finally being able to eat her breakfast at some kind of peace.
After an hour the meeting was finished. Commander and the Inquisitor left the palace, of course not without a proper goodbye.
- Maker's breath... Do you-
- Inquisitor!
She heard her husband letting a quiet curse under his nose.
- Inquisitor! - the man snorted.
- Yes?
- The council puts a lot of effort for your Inquisition.. but even they don't exactly do it for the people's sake. Me, on the other hand, tries to make more for you.. - he grapped her forearm, she didn't even flinch or anything, like it's everyday situation, Cullen however got alarmed on the highest level. - That changing seats and and.. impolite atmosphere at breakfast leaves a lot for asking when I'm doing the best a little brocken creature like you and your playground. That was inappropriate, without respect I'd even say. - the man visingly squeezed her forearm tighter and with every sentence got closer to her.
Commander tried to keep it cool for her but now? Oh it was too much, at this point not only his blood was boiling but him completely. He quickly pulled the man's hand away from her and pushed him, blinded by anger, not hearing his beloved.
- Inappropriate?! - Cullen yanked him by the collar. - You have the nerve to talk about respect when half of the breakfast you were gropping a women?! My wife! I'm not surprised the council doesn't listen to your bullshit. You're lucky I didn't broke your fucking arms off earlier, I promise I won't hesitate if I'll see you close to my wife ever again. You're a disgusting bastard. - Commander pushed him to the ground. - "Brocken little creature", huh? If you'd met me in Kirkwall you'd be-
- Cullen! - she grabbed his hand, which made him come back to reality again.
Man laying on the ground snorted couple of times, pretending he didn't just shit his pants. He got up, of course wanting to bite back but after a look on Commander's face.. he just quickly walked away.
After couple minutes in their shared room
Inquisitor could still feel the tension in her husband's body, he tried to calm himself a little by taking deep breathes. It physically hurted her to see him like this.
- Sit down, please.
- Forgive me... I know you're mad about it all, I just...
She hugged him, he didn't wasted one second wrapping arms around her waist. - I can't let them disrespect you like that-
- I'm not mad at you, Cullen.
They stayed like this in silence for a while

"Please don't panic but..."
part 1
[warning: speaking about serious injuries ]
𝙴𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐
After the big flash there was only darkness, luckily, not for too long, but light began to shine through as she softly opened her eyes.
- She woke up!..- she heard Dorian's voice, everything blurred, incomprehensible, breakable. It was a while before she completely shook herself off.
- Please don't panic but... - he hold her tight looking down at her hand, or rather at the place where it should be, she slowly looked too. To say that it surprised, scared her would be insufficient.
She could start screaming, crying, swearing but she just squeezed her eyelids tight, held breath for a moment, one tear ran down her cheek, and then as if nothing had happened, she opened her eyes back.
- What about the rest? - she asked, definitely surprising everyone.
- Boss, if u wanna.. - Iron Bull started, but Dorian raised hand to stop him.
- They're okay, thanks to you and... um Cassandra helps bandage others and has gone for Cullen. - Dorian finished.
She started nodding - N-no, no , he cannot see me like that.
-Are you going to never tell him? It's gonna be tough considering you two spend a lot of time together, you know, magic of being married. - Maybe he tried to cheer her up a little, but saw that it was in vain. - I know that I'm not in your skin, but don't worry, he isn't like that. - They exchanged soft smiles.
It was exactly at this moment that they heard the Commander, when he saw group, he was going faster, but Iron Bull stopped him. - Be gentle, she doesn't wanna talk about it.
- Talk about what? Where is she? - Cullen asked worried.
Iron Bull moved back a little.
When Dorian tried to stand, she tugged his hand, still nodding her head. - You got this, who if not you. - he said and hugged her.
He got up, giving the Commander a specific look and walked away a bit with Bull, letting them to have a moment alone.
- Love... - he quickly realized what the crux of the matter was. He stared at her shoulder for a moment in disbelief, but knew that this wasn't time to ask questions.
- Cullen..? - she asked hesitantly. She didn't said that but didn't want him to look that way.
He looked into her eyes, hugged and kissed her, just glad she was alive. - Everything is gonna be alright.
Couple minutes later he helped her stand, but legs buckled. - You okay? Do you have broken ankle or something?
- I don't think it's broken, maybe just twisted. I don't know, in general, everything hurts me. - she answered.
- Yes, I'm sorry.
When they had reached everyone, they each collect their belongings. Dorian was killing with eyesight anyone who would just opened there's mouth to say something to the Inquisitor. She was covering her left arm behind Cullen as much as she could, she was devastated, though tried not to show it. The Commander himself didn't knew what to do, he would most willingly takes her in his arms and run as far as possible so that she could take a break from this madness.
Two days later, they were at Skyhold, she hardly said anything all the time, but he tried not to take a step away from her anyway or was carrying her in arms when she finally agreed.
When they all arrived her eyes were caught by a group of lifeguards quickly taking care of Blackwall.
- Oh no.. - she started running but Cullen grabbed her hand.
- He's unconscious.
- I need to go to him. - she tried to pull away but he still held her hand.
- Let them heal him, besides we need to precisely bandage you, I need to take care of you. - he said
She turned to Thom once more and then met the Commander's eyes - they begged her.
- Inquisitor! - called Josephine, who was hurrying down the stairs. - Oh what a relief, it's so good to see you.
- Please take care of Thom for now, I know you two are close.
Josephine nodded.
- Thank you. - Inquisitor answered, Josephine began to look at the missing half of her arm, so Cullen cut her off when she wanted to say something.
- We'll talk later. - Commander gived her serious look, she understood, so he put his hand on Inquisitors back, pulled her against him and they walked over to her room.
Inside, Cullen put things down and immediately began making a warm bath for his love. She was just standing there looking on the floor.
- You're not hungry? You weren't eating in a while and..
- Are you disgusted with me now? - she interupted.
She surprised him, the delicacy of her voice broke his heart. Did he gave her reasons to doubt? He was asking himself.
- No! Why would you even.. No, of course not.
She looked at him and felt that this question was too much.
- I'm just not quite sure what I should do and ... I don't know what to do to make you believe me. - he continued.
- I do, I'm sorry. I'm overthinking. - she went back to staring at the floor.
He walked over to her, put hands on her cheeks and glanced indulgently. - I know it's hard but I'm here for you, you don't have to worry about it. I promise.
She smiled, but after a few seconds the smile began to decrease, and the eyes to squint.
He noticed. - Is everything okay?
- You're spinning.. - her legs buckled and the world flew away.
He catched her and carefully carried to bed. Cullen cleaned her wounds and changed the dressings.
𝙼𝚘𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚂𝚔𝚢𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚍
When she woke up the sun dazzled her eyes, she sat up, clutching her head in pain and hissed.
- Hey- easy. - Cullen came closer to her with warm cup of tea and breakfast, he put it on the table next to the water and medicine. He sat down next to her, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. - How are you feeling? - he stroked her cheek.
- My head and stomach hurts.
- Drink some tea and I'll bring you a poultice.
Cullen helped her to sit back comfortably, handed her cup and smiled at her then went to wet a little towel in cold water and returned to her.
- What about Blackwall? Did he woke up?
- I uh... I don't know but try not to worry about it for now.
- Easy to say..
- You should eat something to take medication. - he handed her a plate but saw her shake so he took it and fed her himself.
- I can eat by myself you know.
- C'mon for Varric. - he said smiling as he pulled the plane out of the spoon.
She laughed for the first time and took spoon in her mouth.
When they finished eating he set the plate down on the table, handing her water and medication.
- Thank you. - she said.
He kissed her forehead and hand.- You know that the bath is still waiting right?
- Yes, I'm sorry about that incident yesterday.
- It's not your fault, don't apologize. - he offered his hand and helped her stand up.
After they took a bath, he gently washed the wounds more thoroughly, smeared with oil, but before bandaging he ran his fingers along the white lines that stayed on the remains of her burned arm by the mark.
- Can you please find out what about Blackwall? - she asked.
- They don't let anyone in, me either.
- Yes, but you have meeting with soldiers today, so you can ask Rylen.
- I will try.
Couple hours later
- No!
- I'm the Inquisitor, let me in.
- I'm sorry but I can't.
- Rylen please he's my friend and is there because of me...
- I'm really sorry Ma'am.
- Can I just know what they are doing to him?
He sighet. - I can't reveal that either, but honestly I don't know. Only that is something with magic and it takes long. - Rylen whispered.
- Okay, thank you. If anything goes wrong please let me know.
He nodded.
The sun was setting down so she went to the Commander's office.
He was so focused on the raports that he didn't notice her entering.
- Hi. - she said shy.
- Oh hi. - he smiled. - Are you okay?
- Yes. I was trying to check how is Blackwall but even as an Inquisitor, I cannot go in there. Have you talked to anyone about this?
- No I haven't, when Rylen will finish the shift, we'll have a meeting.
She hugged him and yawned.
- If you're sleepy go to bed and as soon as i'm done, I'll come and change your bandages. Okay?
- Mhm.
He kissed her forehead.
She returned to her quarters, took off some clothes, and went to sleep.
𝙼𝚘𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚂𝚔𝚢𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚍
She writhed a little on the bed but finally woke up and still with closed eyes she wanted to hug Cullen, but there was no one there.
- Cullen? - she looked around but he wasn't there, however she noticed that she had new bandages. So he was at night.
She got ready and gone looking for him.
He was not in his office and neither in a war room. Then she went to ask Iron Bull, she was so overthinking that she not heared moans or even knocked to doors.
- Bull do you know where is... OH..I'm so sorry. - she looked away swearing under nose. The level of embarrassment was too high.
- What's up boss? I see that you're thoughtful but I don't think we're that quiet. - he started laughing.
- I'm really, really sorry. Do you know where is Cullen?
- I think he's speaking with Dorian.
- Wait! You're not with Dorian right now?
- Hahah, no.
- So who is this?
He leaned back to show the girl. She was pretty and had the wrists tied up.
- Hi. - the girl said.
Inquisitor waved to her and looked nervous at Iron Bull.
- Don't worry boss, we're good with Dorian.
- I hope so. Thank you and I'm sorry again.
- Chill boss.
She leaved the room and took couple deep breaths.
- I'm not sure what I supposed to do with it. I think he's getting worse. - Cullen said.
- Why wouldn't you tell her? - asked Dorian.
- I'm worried what she's gonna do. He was dying, you think that she will react calmly?! - Commander noticed that the mage was looking behind him with strange face. - What..? - he turned around.
She was there, hearing everything they just said. Tears began to flood her eyes and a few ran down her cheek.
Cullen had milion thoughts in his mind about what to say, but only held out his hand to her.
- Why didn't you tell me?!
- I.. I was worried about you. - he answered.
- And you too?! - she looked at Dorian.
- I'm sorry. - mage said.
- I was going to tell you, but.. - Commander continued.
- When?! After the fact?! - she interrupted him.
- I know it's very hard for you.
- Oh really? And do you think that skipping important matters makes it easier? He's there because of me! I know it's my fault but..
- No, it's not your fault. He tried to saved you. Because I wasn't there. I uh..- Please tell me what I should do? - he sighed.
- Talk to me and don't treat me like a kid.
- You think this is easy for me too? I know that you have much worse, but seeing you like this breaks my heart.
- I asked you recently about the arm..
- That's not what I mean, you still look beautiful I only care that you're alive. I just... I want to take you away from all this madness but I can't!
Tears started to ran down more and more.
- I'm sorry. - he said, view of her like this almost made him cry.
She turned around and went quickly back to her quarters passing Sera.
- What happened? - she asked sadly, but did not get the answer. - You did that?! - Sera screamed to Cullen. -You shity aargh! Screw you! You should apologize her on your knees!
𝙲𝚘𝚞𝚙𝚕𝚎 𝚍𝚊𝚢𝚜 𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚎𝚛, 𝚂𝚔𝚢𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚍
After the fight they weren't spending as much time together as usual. Inquisitor was deep in thought, Cullen still tried to help her but she was effectively avoiding him what made him feel worse.
However, Blackwall woke up, so Inquisitor finally could talk to him.
- Hi. - she said quietly.
- Hey. - he replied weakly.
- How are you feeling? Maybe I should give you some time.
- No, it's fine. Thank you. - he smiled.
She sat next to him. - Are you sure you don't prefer to rest instead?
- It's good to talk to someone after all.
- I'm sorry that you're here because of me.
- No, I was trying to help a friend, but as I can see, something more happened. - he looked at the place where her left hand should be. - Is it okay for you to tell me?
- Solas took care of that - it burned down.
- Maker... How are you feeling? Does it hurt you?
- Honestly? It does but it's not even threre, I think it hurts more to know that I can't do all the things by myself. I feel weak, I have to ask somebody for help everyday.
- What about Cullen? Does he not helping you?
-He does but we... We had an argument. I heard him talking to Dorian concerning not telling me about your health, although I had asked him to find out something before.
- You see me now. - he smiled again. You mad at Dorian too?
- No..
- So more on Cullen?
She stopped for a second. - I- I don't think I'm mad at anyone here. The whole situation is too much for me and when I heard this conversation, I couldn't stand it and I got carried away on him.
- Look I know he should tell you and this is not an excuse, but maybe he was scared. I don't think it's easy for him as well. When the Commander goes talk to Dorian, we know something's wrong.- they started laughing. - But seriously, did you talk to each other thoroughly about the whole situation?
- Not very. - she answered.
- Maybe you should.
- You haven't spoken to Josephine yet, have you?
- Sadly, no. How she's doing?
- She helps me too. I can see she's concerned, but trying to get involved in the vortex of work to think less about it.
He was not proud of it. - Can you tell her to come here, talk with me?
- Of course.
After couple minutes she had to go.
Just before leaving, she turned around. - Thank you Thom.
- Remember that you're still strong no matter what.
She went back to her quarters, but she saw the Commander out of the corner of her eye, so turned to see him waving delicate at her, smiling. She waved to him too.
𝙴𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚂𝚔𝚢𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚍
Someone was knocking on the door.
- Come in. - she replied.
Dorian entered. - They lighted the campfire, c'mon.
- No, I don't think I'm gonna go. - she looked at her lost hand.
- You know we're doing it for you right? To lighten the mood a little. Cullen will be there. Blackwall and me of course me.
- How can I refuse. - she laughed. - But...
- Don't worry beautiful, only friends will be there. And without you, it's going to be boring. - he extended his hand to her and she grabbed it. - Oh I almost forgot, don't eat cookies from Sera. Bull ate and he... had a problem.
As they gone down, more and more laughter and conversation could be heard.
- Hey boss. - said Iron Bull. - So we have everyone, except for Cullen, where is he?
- He ends conversation with soldiers. - Cassandra replied.
- How are you feeling? - Inquisitor asked.
- Good, thank you. - Blackwall answered with smile, Josephine was cuddled up to him.
- So.. there is no point in sitting like that with a dry mouth. - said happy Iron Bull pouring drinks on others. Except for Blackwall.
- No, thank you. - Inquisitor said when the bottle approached her cup.
- If Hawk were here, he would probably do a competition with you to drink more. - said Varrik.
- It's hard to beat him in that. - Krem laughed.
- I will not deny. - Bull answered.
Inquisitor at the mention of Hawk, looked down at the ground.
Dorian put his arm around her. - You okay?
- Ya, I'm fine.
After couple stories she relaxed a little. In the same time Commander finished meeting with soldiers and left his office. When he saw her he thanked himself for joining them.
- Cullen, you missed two rounds. - Iron Bull said.
- Unlucky. Could I have a word for you, Inquisitor?
She looked at Dorian and he nodded. - He knows that if this situation happens again, I will kill him. - Mage whispered.
She walked over to Cullen.
He took her hand and kissed it. - I'm sorry, I really am. I've never wanted to hurt you. I should have told you, I was just worried. Forgive me.
She hugged him ( it made everyone watching them smile). - I know and I'm sorry too...
- No, you did nothing to apologize. - he kissed the top of her head.
- You two, get a room! - Iron Bull started laughing and Krem hit him in ribs with his elbow.
She sat back down with Cullen beside, stroking the dog.
- I'm glad to see you in better form again Thom. - said Commander.
- Thank you. It's good to see you too, all of you. - he answered.
- I appreciate what you've done for her safety. - Cullen whispered to him but Inquisitor heard that as well.
- Unfortunately not completely..
- Now, if that was mentioned.. - Dorian gave him a specific look, but Bull didn't even looked at him so he continued. - How is it going Boss? - Dorian closed his eyes and sighed.
- Um... You asking about...?
- You know. - he nodded, staring at her left shoulder.
- Oh. - she also looked at the arm covering it with the other one. Cullen and Dorian noticed that she wasn't comfortable so at the same time they wanted to tell him something but the Inquisitor replied. - It's.. hard. I feel just... weak.
Commander wrapped his hand around her and Sera hit Bull hard on the back of the head.
- So.. who's drinking? - he asked.
- Not you Tiny, that's for sure. - Varric replied.
Tiredness was slowly taking over her. She leaned against Dorian's arm and unconsciously closed her eyes, Mage rested his head against hers. It wasn't long when the others noticed.
- You should take her to bed, she looks exhausted. - Blackwall said.
- True, she hadn't slept very well in the last few days. - Sera agreed, petting the dog.
Cullen gently took her in arms. - Thank you for the time with company, please don't be too loud.
- Sure. - Varric answered.
The dog ran to Cullen as soon as he called him.
When they entered her quarters, he laid her delicately on the bed, took off her shoes and left only the lightest parts of her clothing. He covered her with a blanket, kissed her forehead, and as he turned to leave she grabbed his hand.
- Stay.. - she said sleepy.
He hesistaged a little, standing there holding her hand but he took off his clothes. Cullen layd down next to her, a smile flashed across his face when they cuddle.
- I missed you.
- I missed you too. - he answered kissing top of her head
They fall asleep, finally together.
𝙼𝚘𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚂𝚔𝚢𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚍
Cullen woke up first, thinking it was a dream until he saw her hand hooked on his shirt. He kissed it . Suddenly there was someone knocking on the door.
- Inquisitor?
Commander got up and opened it.
- Oh, I'm sorry Commander but lady Josephine has something to convey with the Inquisitor.
- Tell her that she's sleeping
- But...
- And she will meet her when she got ready.
- Sure Commander. - Soldier put fist to heart.
Cullen went back to bed
- Makers..
- Who was it? - she asked, moving to him.
- Don't worry, I said that you're asleep.
- Josephine?
- Yes
She started to get up but he wrapped hands around her waist.
- You know you don't have to go right away? Not anymore.
- But I don't want her to wait so long.
- 5 minutes?
- If I didn't knew that your "5minutes" it's actually an hour I would prabobly say yes.
He smiled.
- You can wait for me here, I'll try to do it quick, okay? - she kissed him.
- Alright.
She got dressed and went down to Josephine.
- Hello Ambassador. You sent a messenger.
- Yes, there are letters for you.
- Letters?
- Leliana said that there are probably from your clan.
- Oh.. But, my clan is.. You know. - Inquisitor answered sadly.
- I know, my apologies.
- Thank you. I will take the letters to my quarters if you don't mind.
- Naturally and Inquisitor... there is one more think.
- What is it?
- After.. you know... We came back to Skyhold but the Exalted Council is not finished.
- But we fixed all the mess. I lost my..- she stopped for a second. - And it's still not enough for them?!
- They wanna know what we'll do with Inquisition.
- So we have to go back to Orlais. When?
- The sooner the better.
- Alright. - she sighed.
- I'm sorry Inquisitor.
- It's not your fault. If you'd excuse me I'm gonna talk with Cullen.
- Of course.
Going back to her bedroom she tried to hold back the tears but just before entering she took couple deep breaths.
The moment he saw that she was already back, he smiled as he always did when she was around, but his smile quickly faded when he saw her facial expression. - Are you okay?
She looked downcast. - Josephine gave me letters from my clan. Could you stay and review them with me?
- Of course, come here. - he oppened his arms.
She sat down beside him and slowly opened the first one. Each next was getting worse and worse. Tears started slowly run down her cheek so Cullen rested his chin on her shoulder.
- Are you sure you're okay?
- The worst thing is that I don't know if they write it much earlier or just before...
- I know darling. - he kissed her temple.
She wiped her tears away. - It's not everything. We have to go back to Orlais, they want to witness the last moments of the inquisition or whatever we do with it.
- What?! - he raised his voice. - They can't leave us alone for one day, right? Don't tell me you want to go back there.
- I don't but I have too.
He sighed. - I promise when this is over I'll take you away from this madness. At last it will be quiet, if you want to visit my siblings I know Mia would like to see you again.
- I would love too. - they smiled. - I know plenty of people with eyes closed they don't see you like I do. You're my paradise. - she put her hand to his cheek.
She saw tears welling up in his eyes, he rested his forehead against hers.
At night
They fall asleep, after a few hours she began to move in her sleep, mumbling something. It took a while until she woke up screaming, sitting up and unable to control her breathing. Even Cullen got scared.
- What's wrong? - he put one hand on her back and the other hand to her chest. - Your heart will pop out, calm down. It's just a dream, you're safe, it's alright.
She was shaking, so he hugged her, doing little circles on her back. - Deep breaths, I'm here.
Inquisitor wrapped her arm tightly around him, they sat for a moment in silence for her to calm down.
- Can I do something? Bring you water or a blanket, anything? - Cullen asked kissing her head.
She replied after a moment. - Water. Will you light a candle please?
- Of course. - he got up, did what she asked. - Do you need something else?
- No, thank you. - she handed him an empty cup and he set it back on the table.
- Do you want to stay up or try again?
- I'll try but just give me a moment.
He kissed her forehead.
She nestled tightly against him and reluctantly attempted to sleep when Cullen stroked her hair.
The rest of the night went smoothly.
𝙼𝚘𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚂𝚔𝚢𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚍
The morning light began to shine lightly on her eyes as her husband gently nudged her.
- Wake up beautiful, I got you breakfast. - he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
She pulled him to the cuddle, and he lifted her to his lap and hugged her back.
- Thank you. - she said sleepily.
He smirked. - It's time for me to be a better husband.
- What? - she pulled back a little, the smile faded from her face. - You don't think you're a bad husband, do you?
- I can be better.
- Cullen please. - she put her hand on his cheek. - I wish you could see yourself the way I see you. Day by day I am more and more glad to have you. Please don't ever doubt that. You're an amazing husband.
He hugged her tighter.
- But I still get breakfast?
He laughed, got to his feet, still holding her in arms and carried her to the table.
After a few minutes Cullen had finished eating early and set his plate down.
- Eat calmly, I'm going to talk to Josephine I'll be back soon. - he kissed her head.
- Don't be harsh on her it's not Josie's fault.
- I know don't worry.
Cullen entered Josephine's office, but blushed as Blackwall tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
- Pardon me, I should knock. - he looked away.
- It's all right Commander. - Thom smirked. - I'll see you later. - he gave Josie's a quick kiss on the cheek.
- So what about that Exalted Council?
- We have to go today.
- I know but why they care so much. They did not spite us enough, our people and… her? - he finished sadly. - They took part of her and they still want to harass her? No, I won't let them get to my wife again, so that she has doubts about herself again. They are equal to those we killed and now we have to work with them. - he snorted, anger seeping out of him as he saw in his head own wife crying because of this hole mess.
Josephine didn't quite know what to say to that, so she just walked over to him with her hand on his shoulder.
- Let's get it over with it.
They talked about the departure and the whole situation, then he thanked Josie and returned to the quarters. He did not know if he was more angry or sad, but when Cullen saw the dearest, packing her stuff, he could not stand it. He walked over to her and hugged her tightly, she even dropped bag. Of course she hugged him back.
- What's wrong? - she asked but he buried his head even more into her neck. - Cullen? - she stroked his hair. Inquisitor felt tears where he rested his head. - It's okay sweetheart, it won't take long. Do you need a moment?
- Yes.- he replied weakly, tears still filling his eyes.
They stood there for a few minutes until he calmed down a little. He pulled his head away seeing how she was smiling softly at him but he looked on the floor.
- Hey.. Look at me. - she put hand on his cheek. - Please.
He looked up. - I'm worried.
- I know, love. Though, think of just that the we'll live together in peace. Unless the one-armed wife is the problem. - she laughed, although knew she could let go of the last part.
- Don't say that. You never was, are or will be a problem. I didn't propose to leave you now or ever.
- I know, I shouldn't said that.
He kissed her forehead. - It's okay.
She hugged him again.
Cullen helped carry the bags, Blackwall prepared horses, this time to the Winter Palace could go only "necessary" people. Leliana had set out with her men the day before to make sure the road was safe enough. They were about to leave but Commander's noticed his love standing by the horse rubbing the remnant of left hand. He could not quite read her expression, but she was certainly not happy even in the slightest.
- Dear..? - he came closer. - Let me help you. - he supported her to get on the horse but saw that her face didn't change so he rested head against her thigh. - I'll be next to you, don't worry, you won't fall.
- It's not that. I've been riding horses since I was five years old, it's just... Maker, I really want this to be over. Not the Inquisition - Exalted Council. I'd rather fight more demons than play their messed up games. I'm sorry, I want to be strong for you but it's all at once. - she stroked his cheek.
- You don't have to do that. The very fact that you are, strengthens me.
- Forgive my interrupt, lovebirds, but Josephine doesn't want to be late to still stands. - Dorian smiled.
- Let's end this, shall we? - Cullen kissed her hand.

"Oh you're worried, do your best and you will not disappoint me"
[warning: speaking about death/killing]
Raining on the outside, looking at the cameras in your computer as a usual work shift, you were trying to kill thoughts in your head. That minute of lost concentration almost got you in big troubles, sudden whistles very close to your apartment doors made you instantly quit thinking and runs to hide under the bed as quietly as possible. You've been warned about that dozens of times as well as going through but still after that the adrenaline stays the same at all times.
That one was close, 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚.
A mysterious man just opened the door, like it was never locked. He started to look around, especially to find you.
- You fool, Non puoi nasconderti per sempre [You can't hide forever.]
He stopped for a second, then enter the bedroom, he walked over to look out the window.
- So che sei qui. [I know you're here.]. - his voice calmer then before. Your heart almost stopped when he sat on the bed you were hiding under.
- Come out on your own.. or I'll do it myself. - you could feel his hand trying to grab you.
- Alright! I- I'll come off. - you slowly started to get out from under the bed. When you stood up with this racing heart before the "Cleaner" you knew it's game over now. The darkness in the room suddenly stopped bothering you as you looked at him and then stare in his eyes.
- Calm down and listen, amico mio. If you cooperate with me - I'll let you go...for now. But you must agree to do some favors to me, you understand? -he said with his Italian accent, and a cold gaze.
- Okay, continue.
He just looked at you and smiled.- Bene.[Good] You're the type of a guy who can gets his hands dirty, correct? "Vex" is not very different.
- What if I'm not a guy? Is that a problem? - you take of the hood.
He got a little surprised look on his face. - Oh my, va bene. Perdonami, just usually a guy works here. - he takes a good look on you - Finally someone smarter. How long do you work for VEX?
- Less than a month.
- Oh.. I'm not really a prise person but i can tell you that you're making more progress than someone that works here 3 months. I have a deal then. You'll help me with my work, interested?
- Continue. - you were actually interested.
He smirked. - That or you'll end up dying by my hands.
- I accept but.. - you took a look on his arms. - ..Not gonna lie dying by those hands of yours would be.. an interesting thing. - you raised a brow.
He chuckled. - Oh, I'm liking this. So what's your name. As for me, I'm Mr. DelFalco.
- Emily. Nice to meet you. - you stuck out your hand.
- Such a soft name with someone so feisty. - he kissed palm of your hand. - You'll help me with "cleaning" I think you have the skills to fulfill my requests. So, do you accept my offer and become my little partner, or do you die right now?" - he said with a smirk again.
- I accept. - you answered firmly.
- You better not try to deceive me. - his voice gone a little deeper.
You stared at him. - I may be crazy but you have something so interesting in these eyes. - you smiled. - I think I like you.
He chuckled. - Room 6B, it has to look like an accident. He's walking the neighbor's dog so there's your chance.
- Right- what? You said I have to help you.
- Si. - he stood up.
- I didn't know that I'm gonna have to do the "dirty work".
- Do it and you'll live, also i'll reward you. You seem quite desperate - working for 'vex', now this... Or you just insane.
You lowered your head. - I don't wanna mess it up.
- Oh you're worried, do your best and you will not disappoint me. - he patted your shoulder, then was heading for the exit.
- Wait! - you grabbed his arm.
- Hm? - he turned around.
- Thank you.
He smirked. - Be smart, don't get caught.
DelFalco left.

[ because I hate Hanzo :) ]
At first it was familiar, it's not like he wasn't watched or stalked before. But this time was different. What's even more odd that he tried even not care about it. By contrast the more he paid no attention, the more he was irritated about the little thought of danger.
He walked, looked around, listened hard - a single rustle in the bushes, the wind playing with the trees, giggling...footsteps. However as they began to repeat and got louder - he stopped. With closed eyes he breathed out.
- Having fun? - a whisper in his left ear.
With an admirable reflex, he grabbed his bow, drawing his arrow straight into the eyes of the stranger.
He would have been lying if he had said that the man's reaction did not surprise him. He expected that this unfamiliar man would react like all the previous one's - he would start attacking, shouting, begging for mercy, but he only laughed. His brief attention was caught by the syringe in the man's hand.
Still aiming, Hanzo asked - Who are you? What do you want?
- I would rather talk about you.
- Why? Who send you? And why the hell..
- Hu-sh- sh- sh -sh. - stranger interrupted him. - Aaah, so many questions and all of them are the wrong one's.
- How did you find me?
- Killing own brother arouses some interest.
- How do you know about that? - Hanzo asked furious.
- Not everyone can keep their mouth shut.
- But you could or answer my questions, I advise you well. Who are you?
- I'm Tanner and it is the pleasure. - he said excitedly.
- You here to kill me or...
Tanner laughed - Unfortunately you're not as astute as Luna.
- So why are you here?
- Sometimes it is enough just to get information for people who know what to do with it. But I can tell you one information. Since I got something from you, you will get something from me.
- Like what? - Shimada asked confused.
- Like your brother is alive.
Hanzo was surprised at what a man standing a few centimeters from him said. That one moment of inattention gave the Tanner enough time to finally use the still-held syringe. The archer tried to pull him away immediately, but an unknown substance was already in his body, which made him slowly lose consciousness.

The sun has just gone down, the rain was hitting the gutter.
- Kiedyś pomyślałabym że nie wyjdziesz tak, podczas deszczu. Zawsze miałeś problem z tym, no wiesz, zamoczysz garnitur. - the woman laughed.
- Nie tym razem. - he replied facing the gun.
- Pamiętaj żeby dokręcić tłumik.
He laughed. - To nie jest mój pierwszy raz.
- Wiem, ale muszę się jeszcze nacieszyć.
He turned to her and she winked at him. - Im szybciej zmienimy miasto tym lepiej.
- Egh, już go odpaliłeś.
- Co?
- Poważny Pan Kumiega, cud że nie masz kodu kreskowego z tyłu głowy. - she put hands on his cheeks.
- Bardzo śmieszne.
After couple minutes, he stashed the gun inside his jacket and headed for the exit, but she grabbed his hand.
- Wracaj szybko. - she kissed him.
It was quick. Maybe even too quick but who would think about it, he cared only that the job was done and he could leave. Come back to someone that has been waiting. Or so he thought.
Sadly, only thing waiting for him was silence, blood on the floor, document folder... and this little note.

"Did he really got in your head like that?"
Midday, Skyhold
After finishing conversation with Dagna, the Inquisitor were going to Cassandra. However when she came outside the fortress, another matter stopped her. At the entrance there was Josephine standing trying to control the emotions of a man whose scream attracted the attention of people standing there. Even Blackwall got interested, although he was more there for the good of the Ambassador and was ready to take the man out personally if something happened.
- What's going on? - Inquisitor asked.
- It's just complaint about... - Josephine tried to say calmly.
- It's you! You are the problem! - visitor interrupted her, yelling to the Inquisitor.
- Why? - she stood quite confused.
- You even asks?! This hole Inquisition is ridiculous and you are useless! Too many lives depends on this bullshit and even if that wasn't enough, you risk them all. Look how many did not survive this, but you don't care about it at all! It would be best if you quit before got us into even more trouble, you fucking... - he continued.
- Hey! - Cullen interrupted him. - Enough! - he stand in front of her. - If you have problem with something - write it, or speak with respect.
- Yes, start hiding behind each other's back. - man snorted, turned around and left.
She didn't show it in the middle of conversation, but when he was gone, she looked downcast.
Cullen came closer, put hand on her shoulder. - Don't worry about him, really. - he said calmly and kissed her head, however, she still looked down.
About two hours later they were in the Commander's office. Discussed smaller things, the Inquisitor spoke rarely, looked down more often. He realized after some time that she hadn't even smiled once.
- Did he really got in your head like that? -he asked.
She stoped for a second. - No.. it's not about him. It's about me. - she faced him. - But what if he's right, maybe I am irresponsible and everybody just pats me on the back.
- Oh please, don't tell me that you actually believe this. You know it's not true.
- Cullen...
- Look how many good things you did.
- Please.. - she sighs.
- You are acting to end the war, you are preparing to fight against Corypheus, you have helped to keep peace in Orlais, you are helping me to come to terms with the past, thanks to you, red lyrium has been drastically limited...
- Cullen! -she interrupted him.
He stoped.
- I'm tired. - she turned and start to leave. - Sorry..
- Love.. - he reached for her, but she quickened her pace.
Night, Skyhold
It's been couple hours after she left. Cullen started to worry and was asking others, but no one knew where the Inquisitor went.
- I can send my people to check where is she. - said Leliana.
- I don't want to spy her. - aswered Cullen.
- No need to panic, she dealed with much worse things than a night walk, besides I think she's with Sparkler. - Varric joined.
- What? - asked Cullen.
- Dorian is gone either. - he explained. - You should rest a little.
- I don't know...
- Don't worry, also there is nothing else you can do about it.
Cullen sighed. - That's what I'm afraid of.
- You really should go and get some sleep. - Varric patted him on the shoulder and wispered. - She'll come back.
The Commander listened to him, returned to the Inquisitor's quarters in case she came back, sometimes he woke up to check, but there was no trace of her.
Morning, Skyhold
Cullen hoped she returned while he was asleep, but to his disappointment, still nothing. However, he had to take care of his duties and prepare for a meeting in war room. He was curious if she would show up.
He could hear Leliana and Josephine as he walked, but when he opened the door, breathed a sigh of relief escaped him, to his surprise she was there.
- Inquisitor.. - he said. In his head was just wondering if he should hug her or could approach the matter on professional. Cullen was focusing on whether she was injured to some extent, or if she was okay, he considered all the options so much that in the end he did nothing but just stared at her.
- Commander? - asked Leliana.
He snap out of it. - Yes, sorry.
- Leliana do you have news about that small organization? Were they hanging around or someone saw them, were they causing any problems? - Inquisitor asked.
- No, we saw nothing.
- That's weird.
- I know, but I'll keep you updated, they will not surprise us.
- Thank you.
They discussed new informations, tasks, assignments, and so on, but Cullen's focus was only on her.
After they finished he asked the Inquisitor for a second.
- Are you alright? Where have you been last night?
- I asked Dorian to come over with me, I wanted to talk about what happened and I also tried to help him with one thing.
- I was worried.. - he took her hand.
- I know, but you shouldn't, I was with him... I'm sorry, I just wanted a break from all this madness.
- I should ask what you wanted and not press, forgive me.
- It's okay.
- But please, talk to me, I care about you. I'm always here for you. Keep that in mind.
- I will. - she hugged him. - I only need some time.
- If you wanna be alone I can sleep in my room tonight..or as long you need.
- Um.. fine.
Varric approached her as she left the war room.
- There you are. I don't wanna be nosy but how about you and Curly? He was worried.
- I know.. he told me. - she responded.
- Remember, maybe on the outside he seems hard but on the inside he's soft as cotton and nightmares of the past still linger in him. - he said quietly.
- You sounds like Cole.
- Just think about it. Oh and if you have any bad days, your favourite dwarf is here to maybe cheer you up or talk.
- Thank you Varric. I appreciate it.
She wondered a little about what he said, remorses caught her.
Night, Skyhold
Cullen was taking the last papers back for signing. When he made up for everything, he felt a slight headache. Guessed it was rather due to the ongoing situation of the previous two days. He took off his armor and climbed the ladder. Since conversation with his dearest, he has not seen her until then, much to his surprise. She was there sleeping in his bed. He layed down and kissed her shoulder, holding her as close as he could. Falled asleep with smile. She really made his fears and nightmares not matter.
Some time later she awoke, her hand glowing green. Hurting more and more at a fast pace, do to such an extent that tears started to flood her eyes. She tried not to wake him, but failed when were jerked by the pain so hard that she sat up.
- Darling? - Cullen asked sleepy. - Maker... - he sat next to her.
She slid hand under thigh. - Go back to sleep.
- I won't leave you like this. - he tried to calm her down, though a little, put arm around her, pulling gently against him and kissing her.
Hand was more painful every moment, after next jerks she cried and moaned worse, so Cullen laced his second hand with hers. She still was in a lot of pain, but it felt as if he had taken some on himself. She sighed and rested head against him.
- I'm sorry. - said Inquisitor.
- It's alright.
- This also happened yesterday, Dorian was helping me ease the pain... I'm very tired of it.
- I know... I wish I could do more.
- It's enough, thank you. - she hugged him.
When the hand calmed down, she was really tired, she fell asleep on his chest. Cullen laid her down gently, trying not to wake her up. He took a small cloth and softly wiped sweat off her body. After finishing he cuddled up, still with his hand laced hers, just in case, and fell asleep too.

"I'm sorry I woke you up"
Morning, Skyhold
Her favourite part of day was definitely morning, seeing him sleeping, calm and hugged up to her. She knew only she had the opportunity to see him just the way he is, that he always wake up with smile when she's around him.
- Did you sleep well? - he asked still with closed eyes.
- Yes and you?
- Pretty much.
- Thank you for yesterday. - she kissed him in forehead.
- At your service my dear. - he smiled.
Later, War Room, Shyhold
- We have couple problems, my worship. Orlesians complain about certain things which I luckily can get through without much trouble for you. -said Josephine.
- Thank you, and what about Ferelden? - asks Inquisitor.
- There is bigger trouble, but Leliana's gonna tell you more. -said Cullen.
- My agents found out a small organization that has not exactly great plans for your person, if I may put it this way.
- Can they make us more problems?
- I don't know much about them, but I will surely find out more. First, however, I wanted to inform you about it.
- Your army can stop them. - Cullen cut in.
- I think it's gonna be better if my people do this quietly.
- Leliana is right. We must remain calm. Is that it for now?
- Yes. - answered Josephine.
- Thank you. - said Inquisitor with smile. - Cullen, can you wait a second? - she saw him react, he wasn't very pleased.
- Of course.
They wait until everybody left.
- What is ...? - he asked her.
She cut him off and kissed softly on lips, because of it he blushed.
- Don't worry, I can protect myself.
- I know but we can't risk and certainly not your life.
- I trust Leliana.
- Me too but I don't want anything happend to you. - he kissed her hand.
At night, Skyhold
The night was quiet, maybe even too quiet. She had problems with it, but when she finally fell asleep, a familiar voice woke her up.
- No... Leave me... Leave me.. - Cullen was saying in his sleep.
- Hey, it's okay... You're safe... I'm here - she turned to him and put her hands on his cheeks and trying to calm him down.
He shook himself, looked a little frightened at her and frowned, closing his eyes again.
- Forgive me, did I wake you up?
- Yes, but don't worry, I can't sleep anyway.
- Something's wrong? - he asked distressed.
- No, I - I'm fine. What about you?
- Now is better, I'm sorry that I wake you up, again.
- Don't worry, it's not your fault.
- You still have faith in me, baby, even though mine was lost very long ago. - he gently smiled.
- Of course I have.
- Thank you my dear.
She hugged him and they fall asleep again.

"I'll take you from here"
Morning, Skyhold
The sun was up but it was still a little chilly. They both were sleeping, Inquisitor held Cullen's hand and hugging it. She woke up first, the light shining through the window gently dazzling her eyes. She moved closer to him, put hand on his cheek and kissed the second. He woke up with a smile and embraced hands around her.
- Good morning. - Cullen said sleepy.
- Hi. - she placed one last kiss on his lips, he kissed her nose in response.
- How are you feeling?
- Little bit better than yesterday.
- Please, remember that you can always tell me no matter what it is.
- I know, thank you Cullen. - she smiled.
Evening, Skyhold
The day took longer than she had expected, he managed to notice that she still wasn't feeling well. She smiled when she had to, but when she didn't talk to anyone, back on her face was stress, almost terror.
Finally he had time to speak with her for the moment alone, but to his surprise, she came to him herself. Looked like she was about to cry, seeing her like this almost broke his heart.
- What happend?
Without an answer, she just walked up to him and hugged him tightly, as if it were to protect her from everything she was afraid of.
- It's okay... I'm here. - he tried to calm her down, but she was shaking, trying to hold back the tears. - Darling don't keep it in you, just let it out.
She listened him and released everything that was collected for weeks.
When she calmed down he kissed her forehead and placed his hands gently on her cheeks.
- I'm sorry. - she said first.
- No, you did nothing to apologize.
She hugged him again.
- I'm gonna take you from here. - said Cullen.
Later, Lake near Skyhold
They walked holding hands and stopped next to the water, Cullen started to put his things down.
- Did I suppose to.. - she began hesitantly.
- If you want of course. - he interrupted her sentence. Went into the water, bent slightly and extended his hand to her. - My lady. - he smiled.
She smiled back at him and began to put her things aside. Took his hand. Water was quite cold, she approached to him, he carried and kissed her.
Slowly walks deeper until water was up to shoulders.
- I don't think I can feel seabed anymore.
- Don't worry I got you. - he smiled.
She calmed down a little and snuggled against his neck.
- Do you wanna talk about something what's going on? - he asked unsure
She hesitated for a moment, raised her head and looked at him, smile faded from her face, but she replied.
- A lot is happening ... among other things, I feel guilty about Hawk.
- That was not your fault, he desided to stay.
- Yes, but unfortunately I had to make this decision and I don't feel that was good choice, I... - she stoped for a second. - First thing I saw back in Skyhold was Varric... I sacrificed his friend. - the tears began to flood her eyes again.
- No, he died as a hero, you didn't sacrificed him, he chose to stay there. I know that is hard to handle. All of it. If I could take your pain and fear away I would do that... but I can't, so I'm doing everything I can. - he said.
- I don't blame you for any of this. I'm sorry if you felt that way, besides you have a lot of pain on your own. How are you holding up?
- Not bad, but I care more about you. You were helping me with my personal problems from day one. I think it's my turn. - he put his hand on her cheek.
She smiled and did the same. - I'm very thankfull to have someone like you in my life.
He kissed her and she leaned on his shoulder again.
- Thank you, Cullen.
- Always, my love.
They started to swim, but he was more thinking how beautiful she looks.
It was getting colder, so he catch her and carried back.
Night, Skyhold
When they came back it was really late, both of them were tired. She even fell asleep in his arms. When he noticed, he blushed like a little boy and hugged her gently with a smile. Enters the Inquisitor room and slowly put her in bed, but she woke up. She grabbed his hand and said :
- Can you help me with those?
- Of course.
He changed her in the night shirt and was sitting next to, kissing her hand. After couple minutes he layed down next to her, she was exhausted but still moved to hug him. She did it every time, and she still caused him the same joy.

Evening, Skyhold
- Cullen? - she asked when she entered his room.
- Yes, my love? - he lifted his head from all raports.
- I um... I think I'll go to the bed.
- Oh.. - his eyes widened as if he felt guilty. - Well, I just have to finish going through the raports and signing some documents, I shouldn't be too long..
- No, I know. Don't worry. I'm just tired, that's it.- she said very fast.
- Are you sure? - he asked suspicious.
- Yes, I'm sure. You should finish your tasks.
He was obviously worried about her and she saw that, but she was trying to calm him or maybe herself. Probably both.
He was still looking at her with worry, but she couldn't look in his eyes so she left the room.
She had barely reached her room so that no one would hear her shed all tears. Slammed the door behind her, walked over to the bed and sat down, freeing most of what was stuck in head. It took a few minutes for someone to start knocking, she wouldn't have paid attention to it, before she knew who exactly was responsible for it.
- Inquisitor? Are you okay? - Cullen spoke louder than usual, but still with tenderness.
She harrumphed and respond - Yes, I'm fine. - quickly rubbing the tears from her cheeks.
He slowly entered her room, concerned about her condition. Reddened face, crying marks and that face trying to hide what happened but eyes begging for help.
- Darling... We both know that's not true. I'm not gonna judge you, just talk to me, please. - He walked closer to her, crouched down and took her hand in his and kissed it. - You can tell me, I promise. I'm here for you.
- I.. It's just a lot... Everyone expects something from me, I'm responsible for so many things. I'm terrified of what's gonna happen, it's all stuck in my head and I'm feeling like i'm losing my mind. I don't think I can take it anymore, more problems will come ... I'm very tired of this.
He felt as if his heart was breaking. He held her hands all the time, not knowing what to say at first. -I know it's a lot, I really do, but you've came soo far, we couldn't be here without you. I'm very thankfull. Please remember that you're not alone, I'm always here for you, whatever you need. You can always tell me everything and I'll help you as much as I can. I promise. - he kissed her forehead.
More tears ran down her cheeks, she was incredulous that everything she heard was real. He really cared about her. She hugged him tightly, never wanting to let him go again, but when she finally did it, he put both hands on her cheeks wiping tears gently and looking deeply into her eyes. It was the moment when she knew she was doing it all for something.
She smiled for the first time then, very subtly but still. - Thank you Cullen. - she hugged him again.
- Always, my love... Always. - he replied, holding her tightly, as long as she needed it.
Later that evening he helped her change and they went to bed. Still holding her in his arms.
- Did you finished everything that you had to do? - she asked.
- No, but right now I don't care about anything, other than you.
-But...
- Just rest, love. - he interrupted her.
She kissed him slowely. - Sleep well.
