Anytime someone posts a silly video of their pet, people are quick to respond with things like

“You’re abusing your animal!” “It looks scared” your animal hates you!” And other bull shit

Like holy chronically online, Batman! Let’s use our critical thinking skills! Just because an animal is behaving in a way that’s outside your binary of understanding doesn’t mean the animal is being tortured! You are not the tree of knowledge!

People on the internet tend to have a sort of “I’m smarter than you” mentality. If they stumble across anything that’s outside the binary of their understanding, they get angry and accusatory.

Another thing I see happening a lot, is people spreading blatant misinformation, or are too stupid to read a caption. For example, I saw a video of a foal who was expressing anger and discomfort (ears pinned, whining, kicking the stall walls, pacing) and in the caption the owner explained that she was experiencing stomach issues and was very frustrated, but she was doing better.

People were replying with things like “oh she’s a spicy one!” “What’s wrong with her?” “Maybe she just doesn’t like music” “AI!”

Like holy shit is everyone on the internet illiterate?
