The Corporate Empire:

Hierarchy - Duty - Order

Also known as CorpEmp for short, the Corporate Empire is a massive corporatist monarchy, and largest of the Big Three. CorpEmp was the first to emerge from the societal collapse and warlordism following WWIII. All of its subjects are placed into one of four Great Classes, each of which is divided into a myriad number of extended family groups. In the CorpEmp ideology, a person's pride comes from embracing their proper place and purpose.

United Markets (U.M.):

Liberty - Anarchy - Property

It is important to note that the UM is not a state in the traditional sense, they prefer to refer to themselves as a Not-State. An alliance of pre-War megacorporations and radical individualists, the UM emerged from those groups able to bribe their independence from the nascent CorpEmp. While smaller than CorpEmp, their wealth allows them maintain parity in technology and firepower.

World Congress of Freedom (W.C.O.F.):

Freedom - Progress - Revolution

The last (but not least) member of the Big Three, the WCOF emerged from a rebellion against CorpEmp during its early years. They are proud to announce that they have achieved a near-post-scarcity standard of living (needs are free, but wants require connections). Being descendants of dissidents exiled to less pleasant parts of the Earth have led them to become experts at settling borderline hostile environs.

The Green Consensus:

Nature - Harmony - Savagery

Originally a collection of environmentalist groups, the GC earned their stripes during the WCOF's rebellion against CorpEmp, using the chaos of the rebellion's early phases to seize control of sparsely populated territory. Initially treated as a nuisance by the Big Three, GC cells would originally protest peacefully against intrusions into their claimed territory. Over time, they would become more and more militant. By the end of the Earth's nuclear bombardment, nothing remains of their pacifist origins.

The Reserves:

Isolation - Nonalignment - (Armed) Pacifism

Not really a faction per se, the term Reserve applies to those communities that did not join any of the Big Three. Reserves are populated primarily by those that wish no part in the cold war between the Big Three and want to be left alone and ignored by the greater powers. A few of the nation-states that survived WWIII ended up being the largest of the Reserves.

Common Prosperity Coalition (C.P.C.):

Deception - Intimidation - Radicalism

Calling the seedy underbellies of all the other factions home, the CPC is made up of organized criminal and radical militant groups all dedicated to their own individual goals, and not getting caught achieving them. They portray themselves (to their marks) as freedom fighters seeking to liberate the common man from the Big Three.

Cordons Sanitaires:

Penal colonies used to dump all the people that didn't want to be a part of CorpEmp (or CorpEmp didn't want them). Nonexistent after the Human-Crystalline War of 2800.

Crystalline Aliens:

The reason why Earth had to be nuked in the 2800's. No one know why they invaded, where they came from, or if there's any more of them out there.
