The words of advice my brother spoke to me the night before going abroad in 2011 were "there are no boundaries to life, only self-imposed limitations. You're going to experience a lot of mind expanding things, make sure you open yourself up to them." Probably would never have jumped had I not had those words echoing in my mind the whole way through.

It's a big day, I am incredibly proud and feel a deep sense of lightness knowing that we continue to move forward as a species in recognizing each person as an individual who deserves to love fully anyone they choose to. Love is a universal truth, it is what binds us. And to overcome something as big as this, on a national scale, it gives me hope that we will not stop here, but continue to evolve as a species towards open love for - and acceptance of - all humans, regardless of sex, religion, race, sexuality, or any of the other wonderful qualities that make us all uniquely beautiful. A lot of us talk about technological innovation moving us forward, but to me so much of what we really need is cultural evolution towards an empathetic worldview. ✌️❤️
