     “Sorry - I know that it’s not exactly a theme that anybody usually thinks about outside of halloween or a kid’s birthday party” Zarina smiled apologetically, grateful that the young woman humoured her regardless. “Maybe both? But we should probably start with the tables. I get that it’s supposed to look like the inside of a ship but I kept telling my boss that all of that wood with nothing to break it up is just a total eye sore” she sighed, following her across the shop, eyes glancing over a few of the other items as she passed them. She was yet to decorate her own apartment since moving here and she would most likely be back sooner rather than later. 

Isabella nodded, an idea sparking as she lead the lady to her flowers. “This flower here is called gem of the sea.” she explained showing it to her. “It’s colors are said to mimic the ocean and it’s waves. It would break the monotony. And they are low maintained and don’t need direct sunlight.”

     “Hello!” Zarina smiled, not expecting such an immediate greeting but she was grateful for it nonetheless. “I could probably use all of the help that I can get, actually…My boss sent me to pick up something new to make the place pop and, well, interior design has never exactly been one of my strong suits. I can just never really say no to him, so..” Zarina shook her head. “If there’s anything that you would recommend then I would most definitely appreciate it. I’m not sure if you’ve ever been to the Sea Shanty before but, well, let’s just say think pirates”

“Pirates. Riiight.” she said thinking a moment. Of course. The day she was left in charge with Abuela and someone came in with a theme like PIRATES. She was so out of her element. Where was Camilo when you needed him? The boy could turn into anyone, personality wise, to make a sale. “I haven’t been to Sea Shanty. But we do have some nautical pieces. “ she said leading the woman to the other side of the shop. “Are we looking for a statement piece? Or something to break up and add some color to the tables?” she questioned.

At first Layla thought the girl was making a joke and she let out a little laugh. “Isabela sounded close to Layla” But the mood quickly shifted and Layla’s face frowned at Isabela’s words. “oh, I’m sorry, do you work here? I was on a call for work, we had an emergency take in, sometimes taking a call is necessary no matter where you are. I’m sure it’s happened to you once or twice.” 

“No. It hasn’t.” Isabella said simply rolling her eyes. The girl reminded her of Mirabelle in a way. Always making excuses for something instead of just paying attention to what they were supposed to be doing. “Just pay attention to what you’re doing next time.” She smiled a moment before taking a $20 and placing it in the tip jar. Then she headed towards the door.

Peg was on her lunch break and figured she’d stop into the Madrigal’s shop to see if she could find any new ways to spruce up the front office. Despite all she was saving up for, she still couldn’t help but splurge on her sweet fur babies. Looking at some of the newer items, Peg’s eyes lifted up to meet the other’s rather chipper greeting. “Muchas gracias, mi querida. I’m looking for something to spruce up a front office space? I work with the dog shelter and I feel like it needs something to bring a little spring to the space…Preferably something that is puppy proof if possible.”

“Of course! Follow me.” She said taking the woman over to the plants. It was the only section she was most comfortable with. “These are spider plants. They’re super low maintance, will add some freshness to the office. Even better, they’re best placed hung up. So unless you’ve got a furball with some SERIOUS jumps they’ll be out of the way. And in the off chance you do get airbud, they are completely safe for animals.”

Her mind had been so enthralled with the information on her ipad that she hadn’t really been paying attention when she went to grab her coffee cup. Sliding her ipad into her purse she raised the cup and squinted at the name scribbled on the side in black marker. “Oh I don’t think this is mine, must be yours.” she smiled handing the person next to her the cup. “Sorry about that.” @aforgottentale-starters​ 

Isabella was getting up to grab her coffee when she suddenly watched another girl grab her cup. She blinked a few times and was prepared to tap the girl’s shoulder when she noticed her mistake. “ Thought I was the only Isabela in town. Glad to see I’m right. ” she said taking the cup. “ You should probably not put both earphones in when you’re listening for your name. It’s rude to the staff. ”
