I choose to stick to the plan
Yesterday I fell. Overall, I've been doing quite well, and I can continue doing well.
Winter funk
It hasn't gone above -10C in weeks, and my dog is wimping out on being my walking companion. I have been sucked into the winter funk vortex. But no more! I am going to do short walks with the dog, drop him back at home, and continue for a longer walk myself. Today's walk led me to Walmart. what-tilda-ate put the idea into my head to pick up some cheap and cute workout clothes. Here's to retail therapy and cardio's endorphins instead of food the ease the winter blues.
Feb 16, 2015 update
I am two weeks into my BMI program. This week I did better than last week, and last week I did better than the week before. I am getting closer to where the dietician wants me (13,300 cal/wk). This week was around 16,000, which is the best I've done in at least 3 months. I'm very pleased with this progress.

Corner turned
I'm recovering from a period of giving into every dietary whim. I have more weight to lose. In order to be consistent, to rebound when there are slips, and to minimize the sheer scale of those "slips", I have enrolled in a local medical weight loss clinic. It's not a Dr. Bernstein- 500 cal- or all protein type of program. It's meeting with a doctor, dietician and personal trainer regularly for 22 weeks, and then there's an optional 6 month relapse prevention program. I've pulled out the big guns. This is getting sorted once and for all!
Nothing is going to magically click. I need to put in the consistent work to get what I want.

Did really well with sticking to Simply Filling, and pen and paper tracking yesterday. Weighed in and attended the Tues 4:30 WW meeting. I really liked the group of ppl. The scale was not up as much as I expected it to be. 177.4, still down 0.1lbs from my first weigh in with WW.

I read somewhere that things are not as concrete to us when we're just typing vs pen to paper. I am committing to pen and paper tracking for WW this week.

Eep! Scale is up a lot.
I'm not big on surprises, so I weighed myself this morning in anticipation of WW weigh in and meeting this afternoon. I think I gained 4 lbs this week.
Recommitting to Simply Filling
I've eaten a lot this week. I used 307 weekly points instead of 49. I am weighing in tomorrow, and my weekly points renew. I am committing to doing the program, that is eating simply filling, and keeping it to 49 weekly points.
Blarg! At least there are no more salted nuts.
And I had a blizzard, because I wanted one.

Kicked nuts' butt!
Yesterday I had a binge, which among other foods, included salted mixed nuts. They were from a brand new Costco sized container, so unless I wanted to eat the whole thing I needed to find a way to make peace. Making peace with a food is not banishing it forever. It is finding a way to have a little and not suffer mentally or physically. Today, when I was not hungry or stressed, tired, angry or bored I portioned out some for hubby's lunches, and a single serving for myself, before putting the rest in the basement freezer (next to the quest bars). As dessert tonight I had a thawed banana with that serving of nuts. No mental anguish included.

Weight watchers start of week 2
Tues July 1, 2014 So my WW app decided today was a new week, gave me a fresh 49 weeklies and wanted a weigh in. I've decided to follow along as I kind of felt like today was a fresh start anyways. I've decided to give up calorie counting, and commit to Simply Filling without all the second guessing. That is the reason I joined anyways, to take a step back with a safety net. Next week I plan to attend a Tuesday meeting. Then all my weekly WW things will be on the same day. Today is canada day, so I'll do the Wednesday meeting one more time.
Ugh!
I did so well all day long. I was home until 3:30, and everything went great. Then I got home after work and a costco trip. I convinced myself I'd had too light of a dinner, so I would have a little something extra. It devolved into approximately 2600 calories consumed. Come to think of it, I looked at my daily calories consumed- I've been roughly tracking them directly on my fitbit account- and thought it was too low. I wasn't hungry. Maybe I should solely go with WW Simply Filling to give it a fair shot.
